#Elections2024: ABC Party Manifesto

View descriptionShare

As we continue to take a closer look at political parties and their promises ahead of #Elections2024, we unpack the manifesto of the Abantu Batho Congress who launched three weeks ago addressing unemployment, corruption, housing, crime, basic education and primary healthcare. In their Manifesto, they have advocated that it would advocate for an independent KwaZulu-Natal in a move they call reclaiming their historical identity & addressing the question of land for indigenous groups.

The party made headlines by expressing their concern with the IEC that there was very little focus on multilingualism during the election process, notably at the National Pledging Ceremony where they refused to sign an electoral agreement that is only in English and not translated in isiZulu. The party also seeks to split from the African National Congress coalition pact in the province and change the landscape of local governance in KZN. Since the party launched back in 2020, it has managed to win 24 municipal councillors across Kwa-Zulu Natal and Limpopo municipalities.

Guest: Dr. Makhosi Khoza – Deputy President of the Abantu Batho Congress, former Member of Parliament and the Premier Candidate for Kwa-Zulu Natal
