The Gauteng High Court in Pretoria has ordered that academics may be added as friends of the court in an application brought by Animal Law Reform South Africa, the EMS Foundation and Khoi chief Stephen Fritz. This case which has gained international attention is about the call to release three elephants from the Johannesburg Zoo.
