The community of uMhlanga in KZN are this weekend having the annual walk to highlight why we need to have conversation about suicide. The walk organised by Survivors of Loved Ones’ Suicide under the theme: changing the narrative on suicide, is used to call on communities to break the silence on suicide around stigma and mental health. So for this morning we speak to someone who has lost their father to suicide and also those behind the walk to talk about why such initiatives are important and how communities can work together on such issues. Guest: Joy Hellerle Chiang -A Member of the Independent Crisis Team (we voluntarily offer trauma debriefing to the community and run the SOLOS support group and organise the annual walk)

Guest: Ntsikelelo Mzibomvu  - Visual Artist, Author, Transformation Coach and Social Impact Africa Advocacy Award Winner - 2023 (He battled depression and overcame)

Guest: Mkhululu Nobamba Zulu - African Spiritualist (He specialises in mental health and suicide talks at schools. He's currently on a roadshow speaking to young people.)
