Citizens Corner: a worrying rise of Drug mules apprehended at home and abroad

In the past two months, 11 arrests have been made of drug mules and decoys at O R Tambo airport. This new development prompts new concerns about how drug mules are identified and lured into a life in the underbelly of the illicit drug trade.

In this hour, we discuss the social implications of this trend and how we make communities more vigilant. We also delve into the policies we need to implement and interventions that need to be made to help victims return home (prison transfer). We also hear from a victim on their journey through arrest, incarnation and their return home.
