As political parties are still deciding on how to run the country under a possible government of national unity as proposed by the ANC, we continue discussions around what the possibilities are. Many have been likening this period to 1994 as we were starting a road to democracy under a government led by Nelson Mandela under a government of national unity with two deputy presidents. Well, we thought to bring in some of the people who were active in that period to talk about the dynamics that were at play then comparing them to today. What lessons can we learn in order to take the country forward?

Guest: Mbhazima Shilowa – Former Gauteng Premier, General Secretary of Cosatu and was also part of the ANC’s negotiating team at the Convention for a Democratic South Africa

Guest: Oupa Ngwenya - Founding secretary-general of the Forum of Black Journalists, freelance writer, columnist, corporate strategist, and currently Project’s Co-ordinaries of The 70s Group comprising of liberation activists of the 1970s
