We chat now to the newly appointed General Secretary of the South African Council of Churches Revd Mzwandile Molo on a number of issues from the state of the country to the role of the church in politics and society. The SACC played a huge role in fighting and speaking out against the former apartheid regime which automatically put them on the wrong side of the fence. 30 years into our democracy, how would they describe the state of the country and what would they say are the biggest challenges we are facing? Also is the voice of the church still powerful under a democratic government vs the old. What new thing is Revd Molo hoping to bring as he takes the helm of this powerful organisation?
