Adjunct Professor Alex van den Heever who is Chair of Social Security Systems Administration and Management Studies at Wits has called on South Africans to take action to end the high level of corruption and financial mismanagement in the country. He was speaking at a symposium setup by the Ahmed Kathrada Foundation in memory of whistleblower and former senior Gauteng Health Department official Babita Deokaran who was assassinated for flagging a multimillion-rand tender at the Tembisa Hospital. This past Saturday marked four years since she was killed. So for this morning we are looking at how we as members of the public can get involved if fighting corruption wherever we come across as per the call made by Professor van den Heever.
