Africa Month: Celebrating women in Science, Technology and Innovation

View descriptionShare

As we continue our commemoration of Africa Month, one of the major themes that have been under the spotlight has been on Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) as a catalyst for progress on the continent. Earlier this year, International Women’s Day also commemorated its celebrations with a focus on the STI sector becoming a tool for bridging digital divides, making public goods more accesible and creating economic opportunities.

In this hour, we speak to entrepreneurs who have created businesses that have solved a social problem impacting society. Our next guests will unpack not only their success but reflect on the challenges they had to overcome when it comes to funding and some of the support they provide in mentoring a new generation of innovators. How do we build a bigger table for marginalized groups to become participants in the economic development of the continent?

Guest (ZOOM): Dr Aisha R Pandor - Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of SweepSouth

Guest (ZOOM): Rapelang Rabana - Founder and Chair of Rekindle Learning
