What do you do when you believe God is calling you to something—but taking that first step feels intimidating?
On the August 27, 2026 edition of The Steve Marston Show, Steve talks with his son Tyler, creator of the 1189 YouTube channel, about recognizing God’s calling and having the courage to act on it. Tyler explains how the idea for 1189—a free, chapter-by-chapter video commentary covering all 1,189 chapters of the Bible—grew from seeing a need to deciding, “I’m going to do something about it.”
They also tackle an important question: How can you tell the difference between God’s calling and simply something you want to do? Tyler points to Scripture, the Holy Spirit, prayer, and the counsel of trusted believers as important ways to test what you believe God has placed on your heart.
Steve also shares a powerful encounter from a college outreach event with a young woman who had been deeply hurt by church people. Her experience raises a challenge for every Christian: when someone has been wounded by the church, will we pile on—or will we respond with the compassion and love of Jesus?
Plus, Seek and Find continues through the Minor Prophets with Nahum, looking at Nineveh roughly 150 years after Jonah and the sobering reality of God’s justice, mercy, repentance, and judgment.
