Are you putting too much pressure on yourself to be the perfect Christian parent?

On this episode of The Steve Marston Show, Steve shares a conversation with a fellow Christian father who worries he's not doing enough to lead his family spiritually. Should every Christian home have scheduled family devotions? Is regular family prayer a requirement for godly parenting? Or is there something even more important?

Steve shares lessons from his own parenting journey and explains why living out your faith in front of your children may be more powerful than anything you could ever force them to do.

Plus, it's Fun Friday, and there's plenty of laughter along the way!

In This Episode:

Raising Kids to Follow Jesus: Why setting a genuine example of faith matters more than simply checking off spiritual activities.

Unwritten Rules of Church Nurseries: From disappearing parents and mysterious smells to Goldfish crackers and diaper disasters, Steve counts down 12 hilarious rules every church nursery volunteer understands.

Plugged In with Adam Holz: Adam from Focus on the Family reviews Wildwood, Tenzing, and Matchbox: The Movie, discussing what parents should know before watching.

Protecting Your Kids Online: Discover helpful parental-control tutorials and a free technology guide available from Plugged In.

Faith in the Headlines: Frank Turek discusses grief and faith, Candace Cameron Bure tackles new challenges, and Bible to School shares how biblical instruction is reaching students and families.

Faith Between Our Ears: Steve wraps up the week with Romans 12:12 and a reminder to rejoice in hope, remain patient through difficulties, and stay faithful in prayer.

Dad Joke of the Day: Because a little laughter makes Friday better!

Today's Big Takeaway:

You don't have to force your family to follow Jesus. Focus on following Him yourself, make your faith part of everyday life, and let those around you see what a genuine relationship with Christ looks like.

Faith. Fun. Discipleship.

He’s a regular guy with a cool job—and a deep love for Jesus. The Steve Marston Show is a daily, faith-and-fun conversation designed to help you take the next step in your walk with Christ. Think of it as a “200-level” discipleship course: deeper than the basics, but still practical, relatable, and real.

Each episode blends biblical truth, cultural commentary, and honest talk about marriage, parenting, identity, and what it looks like to put God first in a busy, distracted world. Along the way, Steve sits down with guests God is working through, highlights stories of transformation, explores what’s happening in the news through a Christian lens, and—yes—delivers a steady dose of dad jokes.

Serious about faith. Serious about fun. And serious about helping you live like Jesus where it matters most.
