Turn to you lovey got to turn out to turn water wanter go? Comey, come on your thing? Got it? Uh huh? I showed will Good morning everybody. You are listening to the voice one and only Steve Harvey got a radio show. Come on, y'all. I said that a little bit wrong this morning. But I'm tired. I just came out the gym. I'm a little out of sorts right now, but it's okay. I'll pull it together. But let me tell you something, man, I got a clear cut message for you today. I really do you know? Um, As I've gotten older, I've begin to take some supplements. And supplements are to help your body and things that it doesn't produce as much as it used to. You know, do you gotta take a vitamin supplement. This mineral supplements because just you know, vitamin D supplement because vitamin D is important. And you know, as you get older sometimes your body doesn't produce it at the rate that it used to, and so you take supplements. You know, you've got herbs that can help you out with digesting ginger. You know, things like that, you got. It's it's a lot of things out there. Once you start talking to people that's in and know what health food stores and things of that nature. If you're going in there and you know you're having trouble with this, or you you're feeling like you're not your eyesight ain't quite what are you trying to get your hair and your nails together and they tell you to try buy it in or something like that, Or or your joints is feeling a little ache and they recommend grew closer mean and congratagen and you know stuff like supplements, and I take supplements all the time. Supplements are designed to help you replenish what's been depleted in your body. That supplements. Now, now, people, I'm content, hell, you can speak a lot more aggressively and a lot more knowledgeable on this subject. But just giving you a just a brief overview of mind standing up now, if you've been living your life for a while, supplements are necessary for most of us now. Also, if you've been living your life for a while spiritually, you may need some supplements because you've just been at it for a while. You didn't got woll down a little bit, You're tied some people around you ain't changing some people around your draining. It's just life just keeps on coming. Life don't ever get no easier. It's just you become more knowledgeable about how to handle it. It does not get any either easier. You continue to lose love ones, you continue to have to confront the challenges. It's just that over course of time you become experienced and you can handle them better. But life don't get no easier. But spiritually you get a little bit worn down. Well, you need some spiritual supplements too. And I'm just gonna flat out tell you, the more God that you can replenish yourself with, the higher the dosage of God that you are willing to put into your spiritual self, the possibilities then become limitless. You actually have the ability to make a conscious decision to supplement your body, and you have a conscious decision to supplement your spirit. You can do both. So what I did was, I could just tell you what I did. I was taking all these supplements. I started taking supplements when I was about forty five. I think that's when I begin I I was thinking about one day and I just went wild. Man. I started talking to some knowledgeable people. I found out I needed these things. But then spiritually, man, I started supplementing myself too. I started praying some more. I started trying to gain a little bit more knowledge and wisdom and understanding from scriptures and just try to make makes sense of all of it, you know, just just make a little bit more sense out of my life, make sure that I was on the right path. A matter of fact, get on the right path, find out my real purpose and my mission in life. And nobody can do that for you. That's something that you have to want to do. But I started supplementing my spiritual side of my life and supplementing my body. Now I happened to be right now about in the best shape I've ever been in. Technically, I can assure you though I am in the best shape spiritually I have ever been in. Now my body has looked better, It really has. I mean, come on now, at who I am in life, at the stage with the years I've been walking this earth. Man, I'm cool, but spiritually I'm in the best shape I've ever been in. And what has done for me, y'all is it gave me a piece and a calmness. You know it used to be, man, I used to fight so hard against people who attack. Now, man, it ain't. It ain't that serious to me because now I have a full understanding that if I come under attack, that God is with me, because that's a promise he made. That's Isaiah fifty four seventeen. That's that's the that's Any weapon formed against you, any weapon formed against you shall not prosper. You can't. You can't come and get me. It's isn't. I'm not here for you to take down because you didn't put me here. So why would I feel a person bringing me down when they're not the reason that I'm here. So when you attack me, you have to be careful because I ain't ever by myself. I formed a relationship with the most High that I can rely on for protection, for coverage, and for peace. A lot of times when things used to stress me out, how to run this, how to handle this, how to deal with that? You know, famous rough Man. And then you put that together with some business, and you put that together with your family. You got a lot of stuff you're trying to tend to. I have a piece of mind about it now because I have someone who provides me with a sense of understanding and calmness that lets me know that this tool shall pass. That it ain't just so saying that. I heard old people say that. It ain't just something my mama used to tell me. It's something that can really happen. Once you get an understanding, this tools your pass. This is just another piece of life that you are now better equipped to handle. I'm telling you what it's done for me. A millions of people out there hear me. Man has done the same thing for them. I'm I'm I'm telling it new to some people, but there's some people that show enough understand what I'm saying. And then if you if you have known this but kind of forgot it, it's time for some supplements. So when you get like that, and and now you find yourself in a situation with a disease or something. You gotta do something. Nah, you gotta start juicing all your greens. You gotta start detoxing your body. You gotta start purifying the system. See, the human body has always had a way to repair itself if you just give it a chance. Your mind has always had a chance to repair itself if you give it a chance. And your spirit always has a chance to repair itself if you give it a chance. It's the only way I can maintain at this level, and it's the only way I have any chance of going further. I have to increase my dosage or spiritual supplements. I gotta talk to God a little bit more. I got to pray a little bit more. I got to understand his word a little bit more. That's all I'm telling you. Man, If you do that, if you just pray more, if you just studied a little bit more, Man, just try to get an understand and ask him to help you understand. It will open up the possibilities of your life too, into a realm you never could have imagined. I'm telling you that's real. Okay, you're listening to I love music. Um any singer that experienced Theresa Franklin owes her gratitude because she's opened up so many doors, and it's done so much, so much work for humanity and civil rights. And I've always looked up to her, and I just want to, you know, tell you that when she turned fifty, she I was. She flew me to Detroit with my me and my entire band to perform at her fifties birthday party. And over the years we've stayed in touch. And I went through a period where, you know, I just felt down and didn't want to sing anymore, and she tracked. She contacted me, and um, told me that. She said, I've been thinking about you. She said, we're auditionally from my life story, and she said, I want you in my life store. And she said I know true talent when I hear it, and and she she was telling me she believes in me, and she was just she encouraged me during the time when I felt like giving up. And I just there's another story I want to tell you. I was just I was in Detroit during the show a couple of years ago, and I had to promote the show at the news station down there, and she called down to the news station after she saw me perform on the show, and everyone thought it was a prank call, and they said, someone saying there with the Franklin, but we're not not sure if this is really her. And I said, well, I do know her, so it could possibly be her. So I got on the phone and it was Miss Franklin, and she told me again. She said, I didn't think I didn't forget about you were still doing my Life Story and she said I would love you to play my sister. And I don't know if that's going to manifest or not, but just to hear her say those words to me and just she was always so encouraging to me, and I said something that I can forever hold onto because I have wonderful memories. We've had wonderful conversations over the years, and she will never be for guy. Never. All right, we'll have more of the Steve Harvey Morning Show right after this. They held it together. Came out there and saying, because this read. As soon as she left, you've seen the black people try to cut that because there was real respectful wreathing. The queen man so on his wreathing, got through saying saying her tail off too, thought her mercument, this woman's voice, man, And as soon she got through them people trying to cut that on man. Senator McCain died of brain cancer, you know, and that was something that was extra personal to former Vice President Joe Biden, who spoke as he held back the tears. Disease. It's John's life took our mutual friends Teddy Slide the exact same disease nine years ago, and three years ago it took my beautiful son BoA's life. It's a brutal it's relentless, it's unforgiving, and it takes so much from those we love and from the families who love them, that in order to survive, we have to remember how they lived, not how they died. Santor's body is being flown east today. He's two line stayed inside the US Capital. He's citing budget constraints as the reason. Quan to a recent nationwide pope, President Trump is disliked the most in the state of Massachusetts. Researches for The Morning Consult pole voters in all fifty states and found that six of those in Massachusetts disapproved of Trump's job performance, which works out to a negative twenty net approval rate. Looks like Colin Kaepernick's collusion case against the NFL is going to be going to trial. That's right, the gifted yet unemployed quarterback accusing the National Football League owners of conspiring to keep him out of work over his kneeling during the playing of the national anthem. Is well that an arbiter to a judge, rather that that is going to court. That's that merits a trial. Uh, the NFL tried to get a thrown out put you know, unsuccessfully. Is Uncle Charlie, Queen Franklin, Queen of Soul passed on? Man? It is It had me at all right now. And I'm just gonna miss her a lot, not only your the vocals, you know, she taught us all how to sing, you know. And if she's the best that ever touched the microphone, hands down, female, male, doesn't matter. She's just what he was, the greatest man. She do anything with a voice, And I'm gonna miss her a lot. I'm gonna miss singing at a birthday party, and I'm gonna miss comparing diamond rings or whether you know, you couldn't go around her with a ring that she thought that was bigger than hers. So you know, we used to laugh about that. So if if she knew I was gonna have a ring that was bigger, she would bringing she would wear I think the ring so but it was she couldn't outdo her, period said. So I was like, I'm gonna miss that man. Just she's just an awesome woman. She asked me to do a record for her, and so the guys that I had working on the record sounded like, um, what was that movie? Uh, Sparkle? It sounded like Sparkle because I was just so upset, and I didn't send a record because you know, searching for a record for for a record for her. It's just like she had done every kind of soil, every kind of vibe, every kind of flavor that's known to her vocals. It's just whatever you came up with it, it's gonna sound like something she had already had not already done before, and so I just couldn't come up with it. I was you know. Anyway, Man, I'm gonna miss her a lot. I'm gonna miss her coming to the shows. You know. She always would pop up every time I'm in Detroit. She would always um come to the shows. Man. We've got singer song right in on b Superstar Maxwell. Maxwell, give me your thoughts on the Queen and what she meant to you, Basty, Good morning. It's a tragic loss. One of the eight Winners of the World, which her voice is um. Former President Obama stated in his message about her, I've been following her for a while. I got to meet her at the Borgata. She came to see me perform. Almost lost my mind. I couldn't believe that in the audience and she was she was like four rows. And I actually said in the audience, I mean I want to get really ex rated, guys, but you know, miss Franklin to the audience and she was like, go ahead, so do what you have to do. She was like going ahead, you know. She her hands were up and she was like the thing, say what you want, you know, and we got a chance to talk backstage, we took photos. She was like, baby, your eyes are tired, are you okay? And I mean it's just for me. It was the beginning of a friendship and a connection that I never thought would ever come my way. I mean, I don't know. I've been listening to her because I was born. I know pretty much every song. So it three days ago when everyone got news about you know that she was. She was kind of in a critical state. You know. All I did was player records over and over again, prayer for every meal. She was always there, um and you know, to wake up today. It's crazy because I really I actually have her phone number frame when she gave it to me, you know, she wrote re Re which was definitely was her nickname, and it hanging. But the first black and white photo I've ever gotten, I was gifted by my manager and best friend. John D. Was the grandson of John D. Hammond, who signed her to Columbia and also signed Billie Holiday. So that's like the first piece of art I've ever had, photographic that's on and frame. Everything is in the studio And when I got the news, I walked in and up looking at that photo. Right next to that photo was her signature and her phone number, you know, and it was like written on an envelope. I'm hard figured it out, you know what I mean, Like this is like precious thing and it's just you know, the last time I saw her was I saw her last before him as at Elton John's fiftieth anniversary for his foundation trade I V and I watched him play the piano and sing like there was no tomorrow. And h who would have known that a few months later that that would be the case. So, I mean, we all would be so lucky to even do one fourth or one twelfth of what she's done for for the world through her voice and through her music. And He's great for that God game in the opportunity to actually need her and to celebrate her and to tell her just just what an impact she had not only on me, but on everyone that's her. Thank you for letting me call in today to be part of this tribute to her. And you know, of course you know Steve Harvey and when he's a mass and done to keep the tradition of film music going and the encouragement and self esteem is all people that he always brings. It's just great to to get a chance to not only contect with him about her through him. You know. So thank you guys for having me, and I'm wishing that, you know, we keep her alive. We keep her alive due her songs, all the things that she did to make this world so beautiful with her music. We mess all right, Maxwell, thank you man. We are saluting to Queen all morning long. This is my hey Today, everybody will salute the Queen of Soul all morning long and right now on the phone, the one and only Revernew shoting man. We lost a really great one. Give us your thoughts, Revenew good Martin Steve. I wanted to share with you as we all celebrate the life of Areta Franklin. That UH a reason. Franklin was not only the ultimate UH singer and vocalist of all times, she was a real civil rights activist. She used to tell me about how her father, Reverend Cel Franklin, was the partners with Dr King and Martin Luther King Marks in Detroit and first did I have a dream speech in Detroit in Junior nineteen sixty three before going to Washington doing it at the nineteen sixty three March on Washington, and she telled me ramal and sixty seven Dr Team. Last year he couldn't make payroll a lot because a lot of donors had stopped giving money to his organization because he had come out of gainst the war Vietnam. And I went on the road and did eleven cities with Harry Bella Frante to raise money to cover Dr King's payroll when I was a young aunt, and then from there all the way through her career. He was the Freemandela movement. Stevie wanted to give him the Dr King Holiday. She would always meant a present. And then when I started becoming known, she knew me when I was a boy preacher. She was about thirteen fourteen years old of me, but her father's come preach at the church. So as I grew she said, you know, I know who you are and I'm gonna help you. And she would she come to my event. She would send us checks. I remember one time she uh sent me a check to Nashanks Network and I saw a few months later, I said, you know, miss Franklin, I was so taken aback. Then you're sending the check out framed it. She's a boy. You better put there in the bank for I move all the money at that account. She said, you have he a copy of the check frame the copy I mean. She was like that. But her legacy was that she never was disconnected from her community. She was never one that lost her authenticity. No starting made her too big for her not to stay grounded. You could be the tallest tree in the music forest as long as you were connected to your roots, that besides your height. And I learned that from her. She'd liked the cook. She laughed and talked. I would always go to a birthday part. She was all the way real and regal at the same time. She was real and she was regal, and she appreciated people that never forgot their roots and would take a stand when she has Sel Franklin's daughter took a stand and started singing R and B. Some of the critipos criticized then in the Rhythm and Blues where they criticized because she'd always put a Gopfel song in her show. She never uh in any way waver. She had this internal strength that she would do things because she felt it was right. So we've lost the greatest female vocals of all time, but also a great freedom fighter. And I've lost a dear friend. The world will never have another Aretha Franklin. And I know she stood for what's right. And let me say that, Steve, there's a lot of that in you. That's why I wanted to call you this morning, because sometimes you gotta have people that are standing for something rather than fall for anything. I thank you God, bless your Queen, the soul and the entire Franklin family. Since festival I'm hosting, and I brought my mamaca. Today we are paying tribute to the Queen, the Queen of Soul. Tell us what the Queen of Soul meant to you or your favorite h read the Franklin song memory anything. We all know a Wreatha. Franklin grew up in the church. When you say grew up in the church, gospel singer, it's my sister right here. You're Landa Adams. Landa is checking in. Good morning. You're Landa Hey, brother Steve. I am overwhelmed, number one. Um. I've been trying to find the words to describe how I feel right now, knowing that at we won't have the beautiful Miss Areta Franklin with us any longer. To me, she was a great mentor. She taught me so many things about the business, what to do, what not to do, and she was one of the most giving women I know. You know, she always would send flowers just on g P. You know I told somebody that already. You know, you get home from a trip or whatever, and you see these beautiful flowers, and you know it has to be from one of two people, Tyler Perry or Area Franklin. And you know she was just to me, to just the epitome of a queen. And that is why she's called the Queen of soul. And I know you have a whole lot more people to talk to, but she embodied the excellence of combining all music genres. She could sing gospell, she could sing R and B, she could sing pop, she can sing opera, country and Western, you name it, she could do it. And so we're really gonna miss her. I loved her so much, still love her. We've been praying for the family, been in touch with the family, and uh it's pretty hard on them right now. So keep them in your prayers. Okay, I love you all so much. We got more of the Queen of Soul tribute on to Steve Harvey Morning Show. You're listening to Steve Harvey Show. Well today, people, our hearts are heavy as we lost the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin. Funeral service is today and will be graced by the voices of Stevie Wonder, Faith Hill, Ronald Easley, Shaka Khan, Jennifer Hudson, Fantasia Barrino, Yolanda Adams, Shirley Caesar, the Clark's Sisters, Jennifer Holiday, Tasha Cobb's, Leonard, Marvin Sapp, the Williams Brothers, Vanessa Bell, Armstrong, Audrey Dubois, Harris, Alice McAlister, Tillman, Edward Franklin Aretha Franklin Orchestra, Aretha Franklin Celebration Choir. Miss Franklin, of course, was born in Memphis, Tennessee, back in nineteen two. She began singing in church before recording her first gospel album at the age of just fourteen years. Yeah. After ten modestly successful albums, she shifted to R and B and became the Queen of Soul. Yes, she was the first female solo artist that was ever inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. She performed, Yes, she performed at the presidential inaugurations of Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, and of course Barack Obama. That hat, Yes that You'll never forget that. That remember when Ellen wore the hat on her show the following day. That was funny. Yes, Uh, Mrs Areta was married and divorced twice. She was survived by four sons. And all morning long, we're going to play Aretha Glynn songs. And boy did she have some hits, man, Steve, she had some hits. I mean she she truly earned her title and wore her title as the queen. Well her voice don't yeah greatest, I agree, because she can sing anything anything, gospel, country, rock, soul of course goes on and on. Yes, all right, we're gonna right now. Just let's hit it girl. You know, let me tell of Carlo Carlo's favorite song. Put this song on right here, and Carla Ferrell loses her mind. Rock steady baby, that's called exactly what it is? Who sings lyrics like that? Genius the queen baby Roster, Yes, beast my lake who shot a baby? Just what I feel? That's as I can't want. Let's move you from stop side. Let the stop and take her off by moving lust rob Saturday. Let's call this song exact one feeling in my last night? What is im sha come setting rushing, come sent me? When the people from side side just slip down in your car and take right light. Staid it right, steady, Let's saw the song a sacker. It's a fucking load. I'm reeling from it. Iss about did I started shady blue rising? Shocking about left hut in about sucking sha siscoing thing in the same cross hey checking in Right now? We got R and B singer my boy Anthony Hamilt to Anthony, we've been talking about the Queen of soul. All morning long. Give me some of your thoughts. Man, Good morning, Steve. Yeah, man, um Aretha was a big influence on my music. H just her delivery and the passion she had. I remember one time I was supposed to have done a tribute to her, singing her song, and she requested that not only I sing, but that I sing my own music. She wanted me to sing Charlene and Can't Let Go, and I was like, wow, here, it is a tribute for her, but she understands the importance of an artists being an artists and delivering their own songs. So it was really touching to know that she wanted that. And uh, you know, back when I was like really young, about seven and eight, I'm so used to hearing just gospel, and you know, my family was playing this music that felt like gospel. But I heard the lyrics You make me feel like a natural woman, and I was blown away. I was just like, how could it not be godful if it makes me feel like that? And from then on, I was just really drawn to learn more, to feel more, and they experience more of that sound and a Wretha had it consistently. It's a big miss, but that can see a live on through my kids. You know, I'll play her and just her legacy, the legendary Aretha Franklin will always be around. We got more of the Queen of Soul tribute on the Steve Harvey Morning Show. You're listening to Steve Harvey Show today. We are paying tribute to the Queen, the Queen of Soul. All right, Steve. As you know, a lot of stars, celebrities and singers love and of course respect the Queen of Soul. We're gonna go to the phones. I'm gonna let you tell us what the Queen of Soul meant to you or your favorite read the Franklin song Memory Anything call us eight seven seven twenty nine, Steve eight seven seven twenty nine, Steve, all right, y'all, Uh, here we go? Hey, who is this? Hey? Steve Tyler, Perry here man. I wish I was calling on a better occasion, but you know, just celebrating Areta. I gotta tell you, I was at one of the last performances that she did at the Kennedy Center Islands. I was there honoring Rita Franklin. I was sitting up in the balcony with Barack Obama and Michelle, and he turned to me and he after she finishing Natural Woman and bringing the house down, he turned to me and said, that's why she's the Queen of soul. And I never forgot that and the reason she's the Queen of souls because not only she had this incredible voice, but she knows that she knew how to use it. She knew how to use it to make us feel good, to let me have us make babies, to take us the church. I mean, she sung us through assassinations and celebrations. So Areta is going to be missed, man. And I posted this thing yesterday. Uh, the Prince, the Princess, the King, and the Queen, Prince, Whitney, Michael, and Areta all gone. So I don't know where music is headed now, man, but but I'm glad they left us with such incredible direction and such an incredible blueprint on what and how to do. And I'm just hoping that more singers take a listen to these legends and bring us to that kind of music, because that's what we missed. So God bless her in her family. I want to thank her for being a close friend to me and just every time she saw me. She loved talking. We love talking. She loved talking about the halves and half nots, and how much she loved she loved Medea and just I mean it was just really really great. And I got a chance to talk to her, you know, when I found out she was ill, and they had her in good spirits, laughing and so and so forth. So my prayers are with her. God bless you, God, bless you. See for what you're doing today, what you hoole? Just little bit ms up, just a little bit. I ain't gonna do whe Where are you gonna, ain't gonna do wrong? Oh I ask you why spook? Just a little bit lame, just a little bit whole, just a little bit, just a little bit. I'm not forget it. Oh my money getting turned Huney, forgive me my Promose when you're gonna tell Lester, Lester, tell just a joint, just a little bay. Just let you kissing somewhere to me. He easy, Coming up next, everybody, Detroit's O my man, Judge Gregg Mathis, you're listening Stry Morning Show. Hey, Today on the Steve Harvey All Morning Show, We're gonna honor the life of the Legacy and the music of my friend one and on the Queen of Soul, and on the line we got Detroit's on Judge Greg mathis, he's been my friend. This is my due Later the Judge and Areta used to playing family vacations together, Judge get Um, give me your thoughts. Yeah, I'm sad the loss of my friend Aretha Franklin. I was just in communication with her. Her spirits were up so much so that she wanted to vacation and I knew that, you know, she could not do so. And she said, let's go on another trip, Greg, and I said, sure, the three And of course we know. But one of the things that many people did not know about is that she played a significant role and continues to in changing America. Um her father raised her in the civil rights movement. In fact, C. L. Franklin a towering figure in the civil rights movement. In fact, she traveled with Dr King um Ar Luther King in concerts that benefited the f E. L C And the Silver Ice movement. Indeed, they did a tour of eleven cities to raise money. And also I was fairly to work with her in Detroit and the city. We're both from we've worked in the community there together for some twenty years or more. And she was a great woman more than just the greatest vocalists of all times, which she was, but she was also dedicated to her community and helped change the world with her efforts and civil rights and social justice. And one of the other things that I think people should know is that she was very cultivated and very intelligent and aware of all current affairs. We sit and talk about the political affairs of the day, we would disagree on many of them, uh, And I found it very impressive that she kept up on many of the issues very few entertainers might be informed on or might seek to involve themselves. As you know, she introduced one of the greatest or she brought to us one of the greatest performances of any White House inauguration. And we've been blessed and will continue to be blessed for years and with that performance and with the symbolism that goes along with that. And she was just a great woman, the greatest vocalists of all times, and a great humanitarian who helped change America. Detroit and the rest of the country. All morning long, we are saluting the Queen of soul, Aretha Franklin A Speed and everybody. This is Lonnie Love. Y'all know I'm from Detroit, and you know Aretha Franklin. She was our queen. I know she was everybody's queen, but when it came to the city of Detroit, Aretha was Detroit. Um. I remember my mom's and everybody listening to her. She was always active in the church and her dad's church. We would go to her dad her would hear her seeing and she was just a joy. Um. Even though she's gone, we still have her music, especially her gospel music. And that's the influence that I will always have. That's the vision of her that I will always have. And I just want to say I love you, Aresa. Thank you so much for representing Detroit. You made us wow. Thanks guys. All right, coming up our last break of the day, we're gonna close out the show. You're listening to the Steve Well Steve, We've called upon the world and the Steve Harvey Nation. And now we have a special guest. She is Detroit and Philly radio legend, Miss Frankie Darcel. Good Morning, Steve, Carla Shirley, Temmy good morning Jr. Um Like, Steve, Wow, we were just talking about Aresa the other day and and you know I found it interesting. You crossed my mind when you said the other day that God's will will be done. What a legacy we're all gonna make our transition, Steve. You know, we've got a birthdate and a death date and in that middle there there is that dash. What a life to rehash of Aretha Franklin. You know, she could have lived anywhere on the globe, and she chose to continue to live here in the city of Detroit. And of course our hearts are heavy. We pray for her family, um. And nothing like losing a parent and to lose you know, your mom, So we pray for her children, uh and her family and extended family. She is the queen of soul. But Steve, you know I would share with you as well that not only was she the queen of soul, but the work that her father C. L. Franklin did on behalf of not only the citizens of the City of truth Detroit, but around the world and working with Dr King and others, she too was a part of that civil rights movement. Now that we think about her life to rehash we think about who a Wretha Franklin really was not only the queen of soul. And I said the other day, Um, she's the Queen of soul to the world, but she's also family, um to us. You know, she will be missed, but she has left just a huge example of what our young artists should be, how they could tap into her greatness um and of course her her her legacy that she leaves uh here in the city of Detroit. And you know what, Steve, thank you as well. Everybody's talking about her passing, but just the way that you're doing, um, what you're doing and celebrating her life, her loves and her legacy. So you know, on behalf of the city. You know, we just thank you for telling the world what they already knew, but reminding them this morning. Aretha Franklin's funeral service is today. Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, this is a farewell. Missy Elliott says something really smart she was after she sent her prayers up. She said, refer back to my text, and Missy Elliot had text that we've got to take time out to honor these legends while they live in So to the Queen of Soul, who was such a fan of mine and I fan of hers, and you know we've talked many times.
