I can't even I can't even put it into words, man, but I try, though, I try try try. God does things for me just right on time. He's so cool with it. And I happened to run across Joel Oldstein on television like I often do all the time, and I was sitting there and he had such a timely message for me. A part of it was something that I've said oftentimes about if you really really want to be successful, if you really really want to change, if you really really want to prosper, if you really really want to achieve greatness, if you really really want to have something in life that's worth having, if you really really want to accomplish your goals, you got to push through all of it. He said that when you get closer to it, the more difficult it becomes. Did you hear me? He said, the closer you get to what it is you want or you need, or you have to have, or or you would love to be, it gets a little bit more difficult when you get closer. He told this story that's in the Bible that I never heard before. This is what he said. He said that was a man who was paralyzed, and he had heard that Jesus was speaking at a house, and so he wanted to get there. So he convinced four of his friends to put him on a stretcher and carry him for hours to get to this house where Jesus was speaking. He said that along the way, these friends said that they went along because he had so much faith that if he could just get to him, it could be better that he could if he could just get over the end he could see him, that he might have a shot at getting held. And so he said they took out along the way and they walked and they walked and they walked for hours. And then when they got there, the house was completely filled with people. That was absolutely it was packed wall to wall. That was absolutely no way for the men to get him on that stretcher end to see Jesus. This this is a story that Joel Osten said. It is in the Bible, and he was telling it now. I'm just repeating the parts of it. I got gathered and so he said. They were sat there and they went, wow, man, we walked all this weight and it's full, and and and and and and and we can't get there, he said. And then the guy with the affliction told the four men, if you get up on the roof and cut a hole in it and lower me down, I bet I could see him then, and I better to be all right now. He then said, you must imagine how these four men must have felt when you carry somebody for hours on on on on on on the way. They had to carry some cloth connected by a couple of sticks, said the men. Shoulders had to be bruised, had to have deep gouges in them, not cuts, but just indentation to where they had carried the weight of this grown man for so many hours, and they looked at him in disbelief, like, man, what are you talking about. We didn't walked all this far. He said, yeah, but if you get up on that roof and you cut a hole in it and lower me down, I can see him and when he see me, it'll be all right. After sitting there and imploring the men, they went up and did just that, and then and then the story that Joel Osteen said, the man was healed. But the point he was making was he was saying that the closer you get to what it is you really want, the more difficult it's going to become. But you've got to push through. So if you don't push through, you never know, so you can't get right to the answer. And because it gets really difficult, started creating those little saying that we got his people. Um, well, I guess it wasn't meant to be. I guess it wasn't the Lord's will. Now, man, I guess you should not give up right now. I guess you should keep pressing. I guess you should do more, because see, in all of us, in all of us, when you've had enough, I want you to know something. You do have a little bit more in all of us. You can do one more you know. That's one of my favorite things that I heard. Joel Oldstein said. It kind of made me feel good. He said, I always feel like I can do one more anything, And I tell my friends all the time, I can do one more man, I could do one more day. I can do one more anything. Now Here was the jewel that I never really knew that Joel Oldstein and God sent to me I needed to hear. He said that no matter what you're going through, no matter how long the challenge is you've been facing, God has an end date for it all. Did you hear me? No matter what you're going through, No matter what challenge you're facing, no matter what situation you've gotten yourself into, God has an ending date. All you got to do is keep pressing forward. All you got to do is hanging now. All you got to do is don't give up. All you have to do is don't turn back. That is an end date for all of it, even when you think you've had enough. And boy, have I had this conversation with God on several things that I've been going through, and I'm going I've even told him, Look, I got it, man, He said, just keep hanging on. There is an end date to whatever it is you're going through. There's an end date to your illness, your sickness, yo, yo, tired of being tired. There's an end date to this relationship that you can't seem to get through. Beyond over that's that's like a cancer to you. There's an end date. But you've got to hang in there. You've got to keep pushing forward. You cannot turn around. You must not go back, because when God gets you through this and you break through to the other side, the reward and the benefit is far greater than the struggle. I oftentimes look at some of the things that God has brought me through in my worst times, and when He brought me through, I went, wow, man, now that I understand that, Now that I'm on the other side and I have the benefit of the reward for it, would you do it all again to get there? He served with one of our favorite presidents. He is aiming to continue some of the great work that was done before. He is positioning himself to become the future president of the United States, and with our help, that reality can become very, very possible for all of us ladies and gentlemen. A and I've known for quite some time and a friend. Please welcome to the show, mister Vice President Joe Biden. How are you, sir? I'm fine. I'm a fan. By the way, you know how to watch all the time. Man, I really really appreciate it. Hey, listen, Uh, let's get into this. What are your thoughts, sir, the passing of Ruth bad Akinsburg Jeff tell us. You know, I had a great honor of presiety over her. I was a charity to this show to me when she was nominated. And the thing that made her so incredible she was she as as one of one person said, she did as much for women as Justice Marshall did for African American She just changed the whole course of modern history in terms of women's rights and women's opportunities. But the interesting thing about it, as principled and as tough as she was on the issues, she got them on with everybody. She even had, you know, the scalers of the world when he was on the Cordin and the conservatives, they treated her with respect and she was able to bring people together. And that is I think that's the remarkable additional trait that she had and uh, and you know, you know, but I spoke to her, I spoke to her daughter and her granddaughter at length to express my sympathies. And they told me that her u and they told others that her dying wish was that that nobody get appointed in her place until the next treasure was elected. And because this is this is just you know, we're already middle of the next already middle of elections. Team. You know, by the time the Republicans had named somebody and the President named somebody and bring it up, almost forty percent American public bull of voted the constitution says, that's the one chance the American people have to make an impact on who they want choosing the next nominee and who in the Senate. You know, the president gets the puppose and the Senate disposure. And so this is the one chance under the Constitution where the American people have an opportunity to rush. This is just close to it's just a fundamental violation the constitutional principles. Yeah, can he legally do that? Can President Trump legally appoint somebody before this election? Or he can legally name some It's right technically, but it's violational constitutional under under the underlying rationale, he can name somebody he wants to be the nominee. But all those Republicans, including the Majority leader McConnell from Kentucky, said that you shouldn't appoint, you know, you shouldn't appoint anybody in election year. Remember they stopped Marek Garland from being appointed because being confirmed or even having a hearing, because that's two President Obama picked nine ten months before the election. But he can do that. But you know, you have so many Republican senators saying that there should be no appointment election year, like Lindsey Graham, and I don't want to go fee the whole quote. It bore you, but he said, you know, I'm saying there should be no no president should nominate some of the election year, and you should hold till the election, and you can. You have every right to bring this up if I've changed my mind, to point out to me that I wasn't telling the truth. Well guess what, he ain't telling the truth. He's pushing for it now. But there's two people have announced that the guts to announce that they will wait till the election is over. They shouldn't vote till then, and that is the Senator from Alaska and the Senator from from Maine and both women, and they there's a couple others. The two other standout to do the right thing. Then it will be put off until the election that he wins. Then he gets to go forward with the nominee that he uh that that he named me he wants the name, and if he loses, then I get to make that pick. But I won't be able to make that pick until January twenty first. Yeah, yeah, understood, understood. You know, listen, I know you all out there campaigning hard. I thought your selection of your vice presidential or running mate, Senator Kamala hass was such a such an amazing choice that spoke by a year is so good. Yeah, he is so good. She's so damn bright and knowledgeable. I mean, she's ready to be president on day one by if somebody pushing up a roof or something. I mean, this is a Kidnes sign she is. She's totally That's the basis. There are a lot of really fine women that I had to choose from, but I think she's ready on day one. A great choice. You know, Look, I know, everybody wants answers to so many questions and campaign promises, But you know, the question for so many of my listeners is, what's the Biden Harris plan for Black Americas? So what do you say to this voting base. Well, number one, you've forgotten more about you know, my mother used to have an expression, you want to know me walk in my shoes in my eye. Although I've been deeply involved in the civil rights with my whole life, I come from the state with the eighth highest Black population of any state in the nation, I still don't fully fully appreciate exactly how tough it is. And the fact is that one of the most important things to do is put black men and women in a position where they can accumulate wealth, where in a position where they can begin to actually have the place in the community, where as a people across the board the grove the middle class. We're having a discussion here with the Vice President Joe Biden. What's the Biden Harris plan for Black America. There's a number of things I want to do. Number one, For example, there's evidence that black entrepreneurs, men and women are successful and as innovative as anybody else. The problem is that they have great difficulty getting the capital. So what brock and Eye did was we came up with a plan that was one point five billion dollars. We gave to state in the fifty states, gave the state small business associations and four minority businesses. So what happened is once you get that funding, you learn and you make an application and they say your idea is a good idea. What it did we predicted it attracted thirty billion dollars off the sideline, meaning that when someone says, I have this idea for this new tech farm or whatever I want to do, and what happens is if now, all of a sudden, the federal government's given you your down payment on that got you going, then check from goh All invest in that what I'm going to do is change that from a one point five billion dollars to thirty billion. It's estimated that would generate another hundred and fifty billion dollars in private capital that would back up the initiatives that were being called for. Secondly, you know, one of the hardest things for a young black man or a woman for that matter, but to get is a down payment for a home. And so what I'm proposing is that for first term homebuyers in the community, brown and black, they would be able to at a fifteen thousand dollars down payment, which essentially is a guarantee that it's going to tax credit, which says that the bank says, Okay, I know they have the money for the down payments, so now you can go out and I'll lend you the money to buy a home. But in addition to that, there are other things we're going to do. For example, there is a lot of money that's available out there through the legislation that's already put together that calls for making sure that we're able to provide for funding in communities that are primarily minority communities. And what we do with that is we make sure that we have a fund that we're going to make sure that we provide for somewhere in the order of fifty billion dollars of new equity investment. But that means that for example, black and brown entrepreneurs as they face these barriers. In addition, though they have the availability of being able to get loans, loans, loans for communities, We're going to drastically increase the amount of money available for uh, for investments in these communities. And what that means is a simple proposition. For example, you get it, you have a great idea, you know that to call community development financial institutions meeting the small banks that are in the communities, they have to lend into that small community, that brown and black community. We're back, and we've been talking all morning with presidential candidate Joe Biden, who is here giving us some insight though a lot of things he's feeling and thinking about this upcoming election. So what we are going to do is people have great ideas or investments, but with this money that's available through this new program. In addition to one I mentioned, you're going to be able to not only that, I'm going to set up in the White House a navigators. For example, you may have a brilliant idea, smart as hell, smart as anybody else in the world. But you don't know, you don't know how to navigate through the system because you've never gone through. How do you get the big bank to lend you the money? How do you how do you get an accountant? What do you do? What kind of presentation do you have to make in order to attract the capital? What do you do? So we're going to have a place in the White House. We're going to provide navigators or people with good ideas for business and enterprises and access for men to be able to borrow the money and know where to go to get the money in the first place. And so what the whole idea here is to Bill Well, let me give you one example. In the United States of America, if you and I were in the same financial situation to just getting the start it, and we each were able to buy a home, and you bought the exact same home and developer built on one side of an inter state in a black community, and I bought an exact same home on the other side of there, staying in the white community. Immediately, my home is going to be valued at thirty percent thirty two percent more than your home is and automatically have thirty two percent marketing my home. It's wrong. We got to end the red lining that end all these things that make it difficult were African Americans, particularly hard working African Americans, who were just trying to get off the ground to have the opportunity to do what most how did most middle class people humanity well in their homes and equity in their homes. Wasn't there in the market, wasn't it the stock market? It was they do it through their homes, and that's how they're able to go on and then borrow money to send their kids to school, all those kinds of things. But there's a lot we can do. A lot we can do, include providing free education. College education. I think every single person in America who qualifies to get into a community college to be able to go for free. I think anybody who qualifies to get into a four year university, if they come from a family less than one hundred and twenty five thousand dollars year, should have free tuition. But I also think it's really important, and you don't understand this ped to anybody commonly talks about it having gone to Howard University, is it's really important we fund hpcus and minority universities. The reason being that because they don't have significant endowments, they are not able to compete to be able to get these large contracts with government and other entities to provide for the kinds of things like the University of Delaware. University of Delaware, they have a system where they have a mot allergy department where they have been able to get the right people invested in this effort so that they're making lightweight services for aircraft carriers well or for example, dealing with the whole issue of cybersecurity. If you are able to get the funding for these laboratories at an HPCU and what you do, you're able to train those young men and women in HBCUs these new high tech ventures. So there's just a lot we can do, awful lot we can do. Give me the importance of voting for our community and what do we need to safeguard ourselves against in terms of vote of suppression. I love it? Okay, we had President Biden on the show today. I mean, you know, I feel good about it. You don't look, you know, we wanted him to call. He did. Uh. He respects to vote. Uh, he knows how important this vote is. And he has a plan for Black America. That's not to say he doesn't have a plan for America. But that's what I'm so hate about this country. Man. We we make a person pick sides like and see because this thing called justice. The thing that sickens me the way America disperses their form of justice is they treated like its pie. And so many people seem to think that if I get a large portion of justice, that are just less a smaller slice for them. And it's not so, mark my word. Just like we started the movement Black Lives Matter, their counter was all lives matter, White lives matter, Blue lives matter. All is here mess right here. That's not what anybody's saying. So when he came out and admitted that they have a plan to help Black America, I can't tell you how many people are simply gonna look at that as he's gonna do something for them. What about us? Man? They completely ignore the systematic racism that's been systemic racism that's been going on. They completely ignore the barriers that's been set up against black people in this country. They continually ignore the practices of redlining or district voting, education bussing. They just ignore it. Man. We have a sick portion of this country in the United States, But at the same time, we still have a very good part, and you all have a chance to dictate and show the good part. We have got to make them really understand that black lives really do matter by showing up at the polls and making them realize that if you don't count us, that you can count your days. So from now on, you're gonna need to count us, respect us, and have a plan for us, or we gonna put our force together and you're gonna be out. Black lives matter when we make them count us. We gotta make them count us in the census. We gotta make them count us in the polls. We got to vote, y'all. It's goal time. Let's get serious now. President Obama had a podcast the other night. Came on one evening. I saw a portion of it. He was just talking about, man, what America could be. Where we need to get this country back to in a place where a man at least at least we can hold our head about who's in the office and not have a president man that's consumed with his bass. Donald Trump is consumed with his bass. And black people listen to me, and brown people listen to me, and white educated people listen to me, you are not his bass You are not his basse. They do. Do you know that they have these things broken down so much as they go by educational level. When you look at the non college educated white vote, it heavily skews towards Trump heavily. That's amazing thought man right there. But what they've done, what the Republican Party has done this time, like they do every time, is they have flipped the script so hard they got regular common folks thinking that they actually represent them. They don't. This a lot of this has to do with economics, and that's why Donald Trump is fighting so hard, because economically, what he can do for his friends or when he gets out of office, the payback, the payoff that he's gonna be, he's gonna benefit from his outstanding. But what we need to do is help him go and get them speaking engagements lined up, going and get them benefit packages he got lined up with all them big corporations. We'll just let him go do it. Let him go and try to build hotels. Let him go see whatever he old Russias, see if he can pay it back. I don't know anything. I know something's going on. Let him go see what that is, vote him out, free him up to go, cut all the deals, let him go. Deal with the State of New York because in prosecutors is waiting. Man. They just can't indict a sitting president. He got to stay in office so he can buy himself four more years. Come on, y'all, we've got to vote now. I'm uncle Steve is getting real tired of asking you, but I'm gonna ask you all the way up to November third.
