Hey today, I just want to get right to it because this has really been pressing me. I woke up and this was on my mind and I wanted to share it with you because I know this for a fact. See I've lived this for a fact. And you know the majority of things I talk about in the morning before we get started with the regular show, it's something that I've experienced. I can only tell you what I know. And so I've really really understood why God has had my life go the way that is gone, because if I didn't have all these tests in my life, I didn't have all these tests that I passed, all these tests that I failed. If I didn't have all of those the good and the bad, what could I share with you in the morning? What could I tell you about hanging? What could I tell you about failing and then winning? What could I tell you about hanging in now when all hope was gone? How could I share that with you? Unless I've had those moments myself. I don't care what happens to you. I don't care what you're going through. Don't you dare dare give up? Under no circumstances. Don't you dare dare ever give up? It is the biggest trick that the enemy has is making us think we ain't gonna make it, to water down the illusion that there is a possibility that you might still have a chance to get old. The biggest trick he uses is when you make a mistake and you fall. He gets you to start to thinking it's final, that there is no resurrection, there is no redemption, there is no recovery. He just makes you think it's final. He is the master deceiver. Don't you dare dare ever give up? I don't care, what besets you, befalls you, trips you up, what circumstantial situations may arise. Don't you dare dare ever give up? Because listen to me, these are tests that you are going through. And these tests, whether you pass the test or appears that you failed the test, the test accomplishes the mission if you're smart about it. If you pass the test. Let's say you're going through a situation and you get over and it goes the way you want it to do, then what you've learned is if you hang in there, there's a light at the end of the tunnel. Okay, mission accomplished. If you fail the test and it doesn't go the way you want it and it goes there opposite and it turns out into a negative result, and in response you were looking for is a no. That's not final. That doesn't mean it's over, that doesn't mean it's time to turn back. It simply means that now you have learned a valuable experience, you have learned a valuable lesson. You now know what not to do. You are now because you know what not to do, another step closer to getting it right. Listen to me, it has to happen this way. You have to have the rain in your life to get the flowers in your life. You got to have the darkness in your life to appreciate the sunshine in your life. You got to have woes and worries to appreciate the joys. It is merely a test. So when you get through failing, and you get through stumbling, and you get through messing it up, all that's getting you one step closer to getting it right. Oh, my relationship ended. I'll never be able to find another person like that. Not only will you not be able will not only will you be able to find a person like that, you can find a person that far better than that if you don't give up. But see, sometimes you got to go through the bad ones to get to the good ones. Don't you dare dare ever give up? I don't care what happens to you if you lose a love one. And Lord knows, I've lost some people I've loved dearly with every inch in me. I've lost my mother, my father, my brother, and my best friend. I don't know. I know people who have lost their children. Goodness, man, I can't even imagine that, But they kept on going what you're giving up for. Oh, I got you miss them, and I got you grieving, but I got news for you. Don't you let the devil make you think it's over for you because somebody else ain't. Still hell, it was their time. Now. I'm not trying to lessen to blow for you, but I'm trying to get you up on your feet so you can stop all this old woe is me because the things is happening to you. You're not the first person that's happened to Come on, now, let's get a grip. Let's wrap your mind around this thing. You have got to move forward, if it's just in memory of those people. I was on one of the commercial breaks on Family Feud the other day and somebody asked me something and I forgot the question, but my answer was, I always wanted my mother and father to be proud of me, and in that absence and their demise, I'm hoping, just somehow man, that they watching me, that they see their boy, that I'm down here, that I'm doing better, that I'm making something about myself, that I'm loving my wife, that I'm taking care of my kids. It's at my old man to see that about me. You know, I want my mother to see I'm trying to give my life together over here, you know, saying I'm trying to be a better person. My mom was a Sunday school teacher for forty years. She'd been praying for me for a long time. I just hope, man, and that's all I'm doing. It's just hoping that they see me so they can't be proud of me. See you, you, you, you you. You got to understand that when you make these mistakes, that when you fall and stumble and you get it all so wrong, it ain't over for you. Don't you dare dare dare ever give up? You've completed, you know, your rounds of chemo right six, six to seven months, chemo solid week each week, three weeks off and then back on chemo. It is. I would not wish this on nobody. It is. It is unbelievable. Man. I've never been that sick in my life. But uh, I kept coming to work. Yea, your brand, kept doing what I had to do. There was some low days, Don't get me wrong, there was some very some very low. I didn't see him. Your spirit was every time I saw you. Yeah, but he would tell you today was not a good day. He would say that, yeah. Yeah. But you know what jatas, if you get any kind of ailment, any kind of sickness, do not and I repeat this, do not speak. She surely strawberry. Okay, you should have asked anybody on the show. Tell everybody what she did. Okay, So she called me, congratulations, you don't have to go to Keymoor anymore. I said, yeah, that's good. She said, you're free from cancer, right unless it come back? Oh yeah, pretty much, that's pretty right. But that was my second one, Steve. The first one she told me was you have the same type of cancer my uncle heads, my grandfa, my grandfather. I said, Oh, how did he do? He died? Like, Okay, that I need to Jay? Was that not praying for you all the time? Check up all the time, but tell you I love you. Just don't dir And as soon as it comes out, I'm like, oh I didn't need it like that. So you're healing to it comes back right pretty much? Yea, until it comes back. Oh God forgive me. I really means when it comes to this stuff, I'm just not good. I'm gonna stop talking like. Steve has no bedside manner, so he ain't gonna call you, ain't gonna na I ain't got respect, he got nothing for you, nothing, But at least he knows he don't know what to say, so he does he will turning the call and just say the wrong damn so wrong. Oh Jay, can ask you a question? Yes you can, Yes you can. How did you make it through the tough days? Um comedy? I really surround, I really started listening to I listened to a lot of comedy channels, writing for the show, doing the show, a lot of comedy. I tried to, like, you know, I was watching I was a CNN and watching the news got twenty four to seven, and so I said, well, I'm just gonna listen to the news maybe an hour, two hours and cut a lot of negative stuff out, just cut it out as much as I possibly could. But like I said, the days I was down, you know, you couldn't. I wasn't a nice guy. I didn't want to be bothered, you know. But that's that's pretty much anybody that But Jay, Jay, I'm gonna tell you something, though, Man, I gotta pay you accompliment. When you having bad days and you sick, you're seeing in some good ass jokes. Man, Your jokes be good when you sick. Man. Man, that's the second man said Steve said. When he saw me, because I had lost a lot of weight, he said, damn, he said, damn, kee wonna look good on you. Man. But see I say mine on purpose. I know what I'm saying. I'm but the keemo he lost. Jay lost a lot of unnecessary weight. Yeah, you're like Ganda. I really was, Jay, you look like you did when I first met you. What Yeah, that fact when he was making clothes. Now, seriously, man, that's why I felt good about it. Yeah. But Jay, you're you're a man, You're an amazing testament. Yeah. Well, it's anybody who's going through this, and not only not only the person who's dealing with chemo or dealing with cancer, it's family members and people who are surrounding them for the support that they get. That those are some of the main people too that help you out and help you get the things. Because if you're going through chemo and you're dealing with cancer or whatever, your family deals with it too. It affects them emotional disease. Yeah, it is. Yeah, you just don't go through this by yourself. You know, what do you do now? So you watching a lot of news? At first, I was watching a lot of news. I cut I cut of it. I cut a lot of it out, and just like I was wondering, if Trump upsets your cancer, That's what I was wanting. Yeah, No, I'm good, I'm good now. But but so what's the part of the journey now, Jay? I mean, what do you do now. I think now it's just to eat right and you know and and and uh, you know, maintain. You got to constantly get checked out for it. And I've changed the way I eat, a change the way I look at things, and just just change your life, Chemo. If you go through cancer and it doesn't affect your life and it doesn't changes, there's really something wrong with you, because like you, like she said, you good till they come back. Right, So say this to you, Jay, you you let everybody be ourselves who we are and how we talk to you and how we you know, deal with you. We didn't change in you. Just what that was. That was good. That was definitely a decision that I made that I said, well, do I tell my workers about it? And you would have to know something wrong with me if I started losing all this weight around, is it? So? Yeah, you guys, one of us individually, you know, I respected that, you know. But my kids when I told them, they said, we thought you were saying you were going to get married again. I said, new marriage, all right, Jay, Well, we're so happy you're on the mend and we love you so much. And that's all I'm gonna say. That's all coming up next. Uh, you have two cars supposedly in your driveway that are not being used, been sitting there for quite some time. Well, yeah, well one of them I'm currently working on. I'm almost I should have a repair. I'm just waiting on getting we can get a little extra money to get it take care of. The other car is just function it. I just don't drive. But I have more than one car. Okay. Now you you also have a camper that seems to be has been there for at least eight months now, that's that's sitting there. Is that correct as well? Yeah? Yeah, I'm I'm working on getting some storage for that, but it ain't really been there eight months, just maybe around about six seven eight months. And uh, you know, I'm looking at our past records and stuff. It seems like there was a complaint before about the you know, keeping the yard, uh pretty cutting all of that kind of stuff. And I'm just looking at past complaints that I have here. Now the biggest one that I have that that's concerning your property, sir, is uh, supposedly in your backyard. Now there's a you have an old boat that's in your backyard. Yeah, yeah, but I don't see that. Both bothered nobody. Well, well, I mean it's it's it's kind of a sore eye for the people. I think. I think you guys backyards actually bump up against each other, and you guys have a chain link fence between the two of you all, and I think the boat is must be just a sore eye for the family that's behind you all. Well, you know, I don't see myself getting rid of that boat. So I got a cover on it. Everybody else got a boat. I don't see. What's the problem is. Well, okay, here's here's what's actually happening, mister Wilson. What's gonna take place is this. Now, we're gonna give you a fourteen day extension, fourteen days actually to move the car that is not functioning, the camper as well, and definitely the boat we need. We're gonna need those three items. We'll get search search. I ain't got no we moved the boat. I just told you I was working on so well for storage. Do you know how my storage called? Now the boat? US Representative Elijah Cummings, one of the most influential Democrats in Congress and a key figure in the impeachment inquiry against President Donald Trump, sadly, so sadly passed away yesterday at the age of sixty eight. The cause of sixty eight years old, Steve Yeah, so sad. The cause of death was complications sixty eight. Yeah, he was sixty eight, yeah, sixty eight, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah. The cause of death was complications concerning longstanding health challenges. His office set in a statement he was the son of sharecroppers who rose to leave the powerful House Oversight and Reform Committee. Representative Cummings clashed with President Trump over multiple probes involving the Republican president, from his personal finances to possible abuses of at federal agencies. Fellow Democrats recognize mister cummings commitment to fairness, civil rights, and to his hometown Baltimore. Uh, we we've lost a giant US House majority whip, James Clyborne said. President Trump sent his condolences to uh, friends of friends and family of Congressmen Elijah Cummings. And the thing about him, Steve, was that people liked him. I complained about me. Well, ma'am, I don't know how it is that you can see everybody else doing cart wheels when you're the ones that they say is the one that's doing them. You don't how am I being singled out? Man? All I'm saying is that they're saying that you're doing too much shouting and too much running at this church. Now, I'm just the message. Say what. They can't tell me how to shout? They don't they can't tell me what's going on in my life? What's gonna keep me from praising God? And they, I mean, they could just they could go somewhere else with that, but they're not gonna tell me that I can't praise my God. They don't know how good God it's being to me, and you know what, I understand that I agree with you wholeheartedly, but it's becoming a distraction. I mean, they was at the point last night talking about should we put some seatbelts on the pews so so you can stay down. We started to put some seat but high they gonna tell people they can't shout in church and brace God. What do we call the church for? Well, you do come to we need to be trying to place God and get they all shout on and stop looking at me and about what I'm doing. My mom's facial expressions are priceless, and I know she won't be able to hide her reaction if she meets him. More than thirty two thousand public school teachers and support staff in Chicago walked off the job yesterday and onto picket lines after contract negotiations with the city came to a screeching halk. More than three hundred thousand kids in the city are out of school, leaving parents scrambling to find childcare, and there's no telling how long schools will be closed. The school via Chicago t Teachers Union say the sides are still very far apart on a new contract. Uh, there is no class, but schools will remain open to serve lunch, breakfast, and take home dinner for students. The strike is Chicago's first major walkout by teachers since twenty twelve. Mayor Lori Lightfoot said she was disappointed by the union's decision to strike. This is a Brandon mayor, right, Mayor low Yeah, yeah, and respect them, respect what they do for our kids. It's just really no way around this, man. It's a shame that teachers have to do just to get your attention. Yeah, but they are underserved in public school now, such a thankless job. But the problem I'm getting to is I shot it at Tyler Perry's new studios, and cause me and Tyler have a friendship. So he came up and on the break he put me in a truck and he and he drove me around the new Tyler Perry Studios. I didn't see all of it, just he gave me a tool and we were talking, and you know what, I was sitting there and I kept hitting him the whole time we were driving. I was just punching him man, tapping him up, laughing. I've always been a person that Tyler Perry could show things too because he knows that he's gonna get a pure reaction from me. I'm not a hater at all when I see somebody doing something amazing, but to Tyler Perry Studios off the chain. Let me tell y'all something. I have been on Sony's lots. I have been on Paramount slots, I have been on the Universal Lot, I've been on CBS loots. What Tyler Perry has built and owns. It's absolutely incredible. And you know what it did for me. It made me bump my dreams up a bit. Now, not that I want what Tyler Perry has, and it's not that I can do what Tyler Perry has done. I'm just talking about it made me boost up my visions and dreams. It made me think bigger because after seeing what he had accomplished with his vision and his faith and his hard work, it just lets me know that it's doable for all of us. All of us can bump up our visions and dreams. And look, I'm not saying that you have to match anybody else's, but you can certainly just put the spin on yours. Instead of imagining yourself being able to get another a new used car, why don't you see or imagining yourself with the new car. Instead of seeing yourself getting a raise on your j Why about this, Why don't you see yourself getting a promotion on your job that's more money and a higher position. I'm just saying it doesn't have to be at the level of somebody else, but everybody can wheel and wish and envision themselves to a better life. For themselves. It's all relative. And I'm telling you, man. When I was riding with my buddy and I was listening to his visions in his dream, but I was not really looking at him and watching how he thought, it made me think about a project that I was working on, and I just changed it a bit. I actually went home and tweaked it. I just decided, wow, man, I should up it a bit. And that's exactly what I did. I just decided to up it a bit. Not because I'm Tyler Perry, No, I'm Steve Harvey, and not because as you're Tyler Perry. No, you're who you are. But you can up your position from wherever you're at and when you to see somebody else doing it at a higher level, it's not for us to hate, it's for us to become motivated. I get motivated when I see people making dreams come true. I get motivated when I see people accomplishing things. I was driving around that lot and I got said, I've been on all the lots in Hollywood, every last one of them. I've shot something at every single lot in Hollywood. But to ride around his set and to see him having named all of these big sound stages and studios where they shoot movies after black actors. Halle Berry has a studio, Denzel Washington, Ruby D has a studio, Spike Lee has a studio. Sydney Portier has a studio. I can just go name after name after name of people that he put on the wall and have studios. Do you know that I was riding with this man and I realized that when I'm riding on lots, I see Bob Hope Boulevard, Dean Martin studios, Betty White. All these are great people, you know, Jerry Lewis, I see all They're all great people. I'm not knocking at all. But to ride on a studio, a lot over three hundred some acres and see this man put all these black stars names up on studio walls. Wow, Wow, Tyler Perry, he's a bad boy man, and I appreciate you for what you've done for all of us. Man, Tyler Perry, so bad dude, and I appreciate him.
