I don't you to understand what I'm saying, because really, this morning inspiration is all given in the spirit of sharing and love. It ain't about to expose me in any way. That's not the purpose of it. But I found that in my morning inspiration that it's best that I use some things about myself, because I mean, what better example can I use? Because I know me, I know what's happened to me. I knew exactly how I felt all along the way. Because concertaining almost everything, every aspect of my life, I now fully do really understand why God had my life spend the way it spun. And here's the part that I want to give to you this morning, that first of all, whatever position you find yourself in today, we kind of come to one realization that we got ourselves there. We put ourselves there by a series of thoughts and actions. Thoughts turn into things. That's very important to know. So let's look at both sides of it. For people who think negative thoughts, it turns into negative things, and the direct opposite is true. For those who think positive thoughts, it turns into positive things. That's the deal. It's as simple as that, folks. I cannot break it down any cleaner and not make it any clearer. Thoughts become things. So the one glaring question for all of us always is, on a daily basis, what are you thinking? What are your thoughts? What are you thinking? What are your thoughts? Because I can assure you and it's not by or promise of mind. This is not a theory that Steve Harvey then came up with. This is a fact of life. This is biblical, this is spiritual, this is written, This is philosophical. This is the law of the universe. However, you need to drink this medicine to take to get it down and feel what I'm saying to you. This is just the way it is now and here the cold part, folks. It don't matter if you believe me or not. It does not matter if you have never been explained this or not. And it does not matter if you think it works in your life or not. It don't matter. Listen to me. It is the way it is. It is as scriptural, it is as spiritual, it is philosophical, it's just whatever. It's the law of the universe. You call whatever you want to call. However, you got to dress this thing up to put it into phase that you can feel me. I want you to feel me now, because this is all it is. So when I say that you are where we are today because we thought ourselves here or your best to believe that's true. You thought yourself here, no one else. See. Let me explain something. I got people around me who so badly want to take credit for it, but I don't allow it. But because I keep pointing to the heavens, I keep pointing and trying to say it out loud as many times as I can without being so offensive, that my life is by design, by grace and mercy, by blessings from God. My life is because God has seen it to be so. Oh, but I got plenty of people around me want credit for and want you to not give credit to God and give it to them. I got that. I got that, but I understand that. See, I understand what that is. That's a person whose design is to get the credit. But it's okay. It's so clear to me what my father was saying to me. Man, I get it. As I get older and older, he always said to me, son, everybody come with you can't go with you. See. You know, I don't know how people say that in church. You know, sometimes they go people come into your life for seasons, and I guess the same thing. You know, they season up, they're gone, well, you know, and then but then hither way they try to hold you though, or you're gonna forget where you come from. Oh, you ain't keep it real no more. And so you find yourself trying to not forget where you come from and keep it real no more. But to what end is it to the good of your end? Or is it to the good of the end? To what end is keeping it real and not forgetting where you come from if it does not allow you to progress and move forward. I got where I come from. I don't want to stay that no more. I don't forget where I come from. I know full well what I've been through. But that's what drives me, because I don't want to go back to that. That's the push for me. I don't want that no more. I don't want to go back where I come from. I don't want to keep it that real no more. It was real enough for me living in the car. I had enough of that real. I don't gonna keep it real now. I don't keep it real. I want to go keep it dreamy. I want to go keep it fantasize it. I want I want to I want to keep it out of this world. I want to keep it off the chain. I want to keep it moving, I want to keep it ball, and I want to see it that's like so naw, I ain't gonna forget where I come from, but you ain't gonna hold me to that thought. See, thoughts become things all day long? Where's your vision board? Where are the things that you won't written down? What do you think about the most? How grateful are you for what all God has done for you? Where you at with that? See here another law? If thoughts become things, or here come the moment, y'all, If thoughts become things, let me ask you this. If all you thinking about is your debt, If all you're thinking about is what you ain't got, If all you thinking about or is old, woe is me? If all you thinking about is every time I turn around, I'm sick. If all you thinking about it's the things in life that you're lacking. If that's all you're thinking about, and if thoughts become things, how much debt you think you're gonna stay in? How much? How much how much lacking you think you fin to feel your life with? How much most stuff you find to not have because you keep thinking about it all the time? When you're gonna be grateful, when you're gonna say thank you, when it's gonna come out your mouth. Man, that I may not be where I want to be, but I sho am grateful for what you've given me so far, for the things I have to date, because I don't have to have these things. You know that does? That then opens up room for more stuff to come your way. To be grateful fall. But if you're gonna be ungrateful, man, let me ask you something. I ain't God, I don't claim to be, But let me ask you something. Man, If you're ungrateful for the things we've got, we can't show no gratitude for what we have. Why would God give us some most stuff to be ungrateful for? What would he do that for? Man? I blessed you with that. You ain't like that I gave you this. You ain't saying nothing to me about that. You ain't feeling me on this right here. So I'll tell you what. Man, Let me stop giving this dude something because he just over here he ain't glad for nothing. The underlying message of Nipseys celebration of life was that the marathon continues. That was also the name of his clothing store. Of family and friends took the stage to share memories of him. I pray that the leaders who have a responsibility to perpetuate life, we'll do it by making sure that the laws will make it so very hard for people to have guns and to take their frustrations out to kill life. I'm very happy that in his short life he was able to motivate people, and I hope that it motivates you enough to say, listen, enough of people being killed by guns and violence. I hope that we don't just talk about it, but we be about it to make a difference for our future. Wow. Powerful and so true. You know, Look, look, man, to get the gun laws in place, we're going to have to change so many things. The number one thing is the NIA cannot be one of the number one contributors to the Republican Party. You don't understand that they are one of the top contributors, if not the top contributor to the Republican Party. They back Republican candidates. If you come out and speak against the right to carry in arms in this country, they pull the money from you. Not only do they pull it from you, they put it behind your opponent. And these people are not willing to give up their power, position or money to save nobody like that. Right. There is the ugly, ugly truth of this country. Um, this is something that you know, I never I don't really understand, but I know that aramis always used sets people that you experienced them, and I'm so honored and blessed that I got to experience such a man. I know everyone is hurting, but I'd like to say something to my city, Los Angeles. Y'all from our LA stand up, because this pain is really ours. You know, we know what it meant to us. We lost an incredible soul. She said, you know you are the man, therefore you're the one that's supposed to provide. I wanted to do fifty fifty, but she says no roommate. So I did the worst thing and would says she's yeah, oh, I'm sorry, right. I didn't think that sounded right. I wanted to do fifty fifty, but she says she's no roommates. So I did the worst thing and went to Facebook for advice. It backfired and I got called a little boy. There are a lot of single women who feel this way. I thought relationships or marriages were partnerships. I don't make six figures, surely, and I'm not going to be this girl's father. Please help. Okay, Okay, if you don't make six figures, that's okay. It's whatever works for you, guys, in your relationship. And clearly this is not working because you're the only one working. You are working, though you may not make as much as you used to make. You said you took a pay cut, but she's not working at all. Now, you guys have to develop set up some ground rules, some boundaries here. Now she's not gonna work at all? Is she able to work? Is she capable of working? I mean, I get the whole. You know, you're the man, you're the provider type thing in a marriage. I mean that that's biblical. But does she expect you just to take care of her? She's not going to work at all? What does you mean, like she that doesn't even enter? How she going to take care of herself if you weren't around. I'm not really understanding this. Is she just going to get another man to take care of her and provide for her? Is that where she's at with it? You know, you guys are starting off this relationship on the wrong foot. Last week, House democrats requested the release of the last six years of Trump's personal and business tax returns. In an interview with Fox News, White House Acting Chief of Staff mc mulvaney was asked whether Congress should get access to Trump's tax returns. He responded, no, never, you know what, Never you know what. Let me tell you something, man, I don't care anymore about his tax returns because I already know what it's gonna say, and it's not going to stop the people from voting from him, that's voting for him. They're gonna think, like he said, he's a really smart guy. And guess what what he's done is probably legal. I could almost guarantee you that it's just he has manipulated the loopholes to what they fit perfectly into what he's doing. And even if it's not legal, they're aren't gonna care. Nobody, Yeah, nobody cares. They just want him in office. Mulvaney continued, Steve saying Democrats are demanding that the Irs turn over the document. This is not going to happen, and then they know it. This is a political stunt. The President gave a brief explanation as to why his taxes are being scrutinized by the I R S. Take a listen. And I listened to him talk man, and he was an interesting guy. He's very very smart with what he did. And what President Trump did was he passed this bill. I can't think of the name of the bill, but let me give you the numbers. Four thousand inmates will be released this year. Okay, twenty five thousand inmates will have their sentences shortened. These are people who are in there for nonviolent drug related offenses. One hundred thousand women who are incarcerated will be able to have their babies in prison without being shackle to the bed. Do you know that if an inmate has a baby in prison, the shackle to the bed. Yeah, they had to pass a law to stop that. And he went and he kept meeting, meeting with Trump's people, and at first he was against it, and then he understood what Van was saying and he gave it to him and they passed the law. Well, just like Mary Ellis, you know, with the help of Kim Kardashian got out out. So this is going to be a trend. You're saying, more and more people are going to get out. What's what's the bigger part of it is what Van Jones did because now he has it as a law, it's a law that these people are going to get out. I don't have to tell you how many of them people it's us. Oh yeah, you number for this now, well, four thousand of getting out this year. Twenty five thousand had their sentences this reduced. I mean they were getting some crazy because these was prison times from the eighties. You know when that crazy crack law came out. Yeah, you know that Clinton did. Did Did he say why? I think it? Did he say why Donald Trump is so into this? Yeah? He said because he wants to do something right. I mean that was Van Jones's thing. He said he wants to do something right. You think that's right? Golf is that one sport that guys can compete for championships into their forties and even into their fifties. So you and nephew play golf all the time. You gave us tax tips last hour. How about some golfing tips for those who golf? Whoa Steve, No, but we want to hear your tips. You and your we ain't good. Oh but we are the best dressed golfer was owned the course. Now, me and Blue we played a two day tournament. Okay, I'll be blue by one stroke, So y'all would actually have a tournament. I think it should be two days because anybody can have a bad day, you know what I mean. We're gonna play. We're gonna play in Dubai because you're not gonna fly out over there and playing Dubai where you want to, man, we could play somewhere, you know, I hate dog a matter of fact, I'll come into Houston and play at your favorite course. Oh much? Yeah, I make it light on you. Junior is ready to put the money down. How y'all playing? Come on, timmy, I mean, I mean now you know what you know, I'm an old. I ain'timal running jumping for me. Well, listen, my tournament. It's September. Thirty miles are given. Um, it was a beautiful service. His brother Sam spoke very eloquently. I loved what he said about his little brother Snoop dog. I mean, so many wonderful speakers, you know, surely I'll say this. I've never lost you know, my wife, my lover, she lost her man hellover. You've got to be an incredibly strong person to talk at that funeral. Yes, Lord, she's what you do. This is what Lauren London said. Take a listen. You've given me the opportunity to really love a man. You've been with me while I've been sick through all my fears. You have encouraged me and inspired me to reach higher. I've learned so much about myself with you. You've been my turn up and my church. I wouldn't want to go through this journey with anyone but you. I look up to you in a lot of ways, and I strive to educate myself more like you have. And when we are at odds, I feel defeated and sad knowing that we are so much better than that. I just want you to know that you've been You've been the greatest boyfriend to me. You weren't perfect, but I would never ask you to be. You and I work, we fit and you're the coolest guy in the world to me. Still, I love you so much, unconditionally. My truth is this, I'm never gonna give up on you. My love and my devotion is to you, and I sent that January twenty first, twenty nineteen. I had to write something because I've never felt this type of pain before. But I know that God is alive. But bear with me. All his soul was majestic. He was the strongest man that I ever knew, A gentle father, a patient leader, a divine light. He was brilliant. He researched everything, completely self taught, constantly seeking knowledge. He would he would go to bed and listen to these audio books and his headphones, and I would tease him, but that really is what I thought was the coolest ever about him. And he would wake up in the morning and play music for the kids and light a sage and burn it around the house and just make sure that our energy going outside would be uplifted and that we could handle the day. You know, my pain is for my two year old that probably won't remember how much his dad loved him. This is something that you know, I never I don't really understand, but I know that aramis always used sets people that you experienced them, and I'm so honored and blessed that I got to experience such a man. I know everyone is hurting. But I'd like to say something to my city, Los Angeles. Y'all from our LA stand up, because this pain is really ours. You know, we know what it meant to us. We lost an incredible soul. We lost someone very rare to us, and we lost a real one and we won't ever be the same. But in Hustle's words, because he used to always say this, the game is gonna test you. Never fold, stay tin toes down. It's not on you. It's in you. And what's in you they can't take away. And he's in all of us. It's an ammis the love of my life. You know what it is. Grief is the final act of love. My heart hears you. I feel you everywhere. I'm so grateful that I had you. White folk running there, and I don't think who you is, black, white Latino, your ass scared of fire. Yeah, so they got out, and so now they're heading out, and now they got to go and get John Snow kneel and round up all the different clans because now they got to come together because they all got to go to walk against the whitewalker. So now while the whitewalkers is coming, called, they slow in hell, you know, they're dead, yeah, you know, try they're rocking. So they take a long time. So they own horses and stuff running here to come, here to come, oh Lord, here to come, and a lot of people, you know, and but the white walker walking, Yeah, you're calling white walker because take a long time away. Look like they're walking in white snow. Yeah, they't white runners, They white, white, white short. So they don't get back. They got to get everything together. Somebody got to go tell that white girl Kalisa it all. Haler broke up. One of her dragons is down. But he coming back with blue eyes because they're gonna have some witnesses from the wall. They're gonna tell her the dragon is hat. With the blue eyes dash say the dragon is hell. It's become a white locker. Now, John Snow now fot to season go out, y'all need not to. John Snow gonna get killed. No, everybody gonna die in this hill. All right, all right, listen, thank you Steve for that. All right, Steve, Here we are the last break of the day, on this last day of the week for us, this Friday. It's been an impactful week, a great week. Um, leave us with some closing remarks, you know, Steve, Um, what I want to share with you is something that prevents so many people from becoming successful. And that thing is called excuses. You know, it's it's it's it's amazing how well, we want to justify a lack of effort, or we want to justify our procrastination. All we want to justify not doing something we said we were going to do. We want to justify just not getting started. We can come up with some pretty pretty impressive excuses. But you know the thing about an excuse, though, it serves no one except the person that's providing the excuse. The person you're giving the excuse too. It does nothing from them because their level of expectation for you was in place and the fact that you didn't come through. I mean, how can you possibly think that this person is sitting there going, wow, that's great, you didn't come through. Now you're here, okay, well I'm sorry that happened. So when will you get to it? Or you hear something like oh wow, man, I didn't know that. And when you walk a guy and when you walk away, that person goes, wow. I can't count on them. If you keep giving excuses, then after a while a person just goes, I don't believe nothing he says. And either way, man, the person that you gave the excuse too, I can promise you they don't think as much of you as they did when they first thought you were coming through. Folks, if you could learn to eliminate excuses, you know, taught me not to have excuses. My father follows a strong man man. His dude was powerful. To me. It's the greatest dude to have a new But he taught me about excuses. He says, son, don't ever give me an excuse, because what that ain't gonna do me no good. He said, we ain't got nothing. At least you could give me your word. He said, we ain't got nothing else. We ain't got too much more than a part to piss in. But if you're gonna give me your word and tell me you're gonna do something, don't give me no excuse instead, because now we ain't got nothing, y'all. If you could eliminate excuses, if you could stop the allowing yourself off the hook, because that's all it is. The only person you're hurting with these excuses is you. I'll give you an example of how you hurt other people with your excuse. Sister, If you have a child and you keep promising your child that you're gonna do so, if you're a dad, then you don't live with your child. Your boy or your girl. You tell them you're gonna come by. That child is at the window and at the doorway, and they got their little bag pack, they got their lunch packs. I'm going with my dad and man on, man on man. The disappointment that had that child had when you and then you call in against what you say. I had to work, sorry man, but I had to work. Well, I got you head to work for Guess what that does nothing for that child that was waiting on their dad. I got you got to work. But what they got to do that don't stop the disappointment in the child. See excuses, man, they go a long wait many they do far more damage than you can imagine. So after a while, if you keep doing that to that child, and you keep promising your child you're gonna do something, you never do it. Ah, think about that, man, what that does to that child. If you're in a relationship and you keep promising the person you're in a relationship with it you're gonna do something for him, and you never do it. How long you think this relationship gonna lad? You gotta do what you say you're gonna do. You can't create excuses. But then the person who really gets damaged is you, Because when that child grows up and he can now stand on his own, and he can take his own self somewhere, and he can buy his own clothes, and now you want to come around and hey, that's my son. And then he's old enough to ask you questions. Yeah, I'm your sonbol Where were you when I needed you? Man? Where were you when I was standing in the window. Where were you when I was sitting on the porch, man, with my lunch box, just looking at every card that went by, hoping that my daddy would finally come through to my mama finally tend me coming there off the porch. You see, man, Now you got to deal with that and all the excuses you was giving that boy or that little girl back then. It don't mean damn thing to them, you know, man, And it stops you so much. See, once you become a person that provides excuses, it ain't just to your children, it ain't just to your love one, your lover. It's to your job, it's to your career. And pretty soon you start giving excuses to yourself because it's a pattern of behavior. And you got to break that pattern of behavior because it's a no win situation for you. Stop making excuses. Man, Why don't you just simply do what you say you're gonna do. It's much easier to do that. If you say you're gonna do it, be a man of your word, a woman of your word, and go do it. Period. Now, if you're not gonna do it, say that. Be a man of your word on that. See, that's what I do. When somebody asked me to do something, I distinctly tell him, Amen, I'm not gonna do that. I'm sorry, but I won't be there that way. Ain't no hope of you're looking for me? Well, he said he wasn't coming, but I'm gonna see if he come them anywhere? No, no, no, if I tell you I'm not coming.
