The Threat is a new hit podcast from Azzi Media that explores history surprising connections in order to discover how one thing leads to another, like how movie moguls in early Hollywood helps spark the me Too movement Today. Get it on I Heart Radio or wherever you listen. Yeah, you go with me. You gotta turn turn Let yeah go very close. You gotta turn. You won't to turn turns to love. You got to turn out. Come. Come on, uh h, I show will a good morning everybody you're listening to the voice, Come on, dig me now one it only Steve Harvey got a radio show today. It's real simple for everybody that's trying to become successful on any level in any arena in the genre. I don't care what it is. If you're trying to be successful, this message is for you. Let me help you understand something real clear. You ain't gonna make it the way you want to, and you're not going to make it to the heights that's fully out there and available for you without God. And I'm just killing keep it real, simpling clean for you today. You're not going to make it the way you want to, and you're not going to get to the heights that's available to you without God. You have to get this through your head. Now, listen to me. You can try it if you want to, because I did. I'm here to tell you I am talking purely from experience. Here. You can try it without God, and you can see how far you can get. Now when you have some measures of success, of course you will. Will it feel like days like you might make it? Of course you will, without a doubt. But let me ask you a question, though, What you're gonna do about them days when you feel like you ain't gonna make it. What you're gonna do about them, days when you feel like giving up. When you're gonna do about them, days where it feels like there are no answers to your questions. What you're gonna do about them days? What you're gonna do about them days when everybody laughing at you, turn against you. What you're gonna do about them, days when you just don't see no way through it? What you're gonna do about them days? See, I got there, I got the sunshine. You know, sunshine cool? Everybody got friends. When it's Sunday outside, you want some friends, hit the lotto, You want to get rid of them, friends, go ask for some help. Man, I'm talking about man. They scattered like roaches when lights come on. I'm trying to tell you, so now here, here we go again, and you can do this without God now because I've done it, and you can have yourself some measure success. Let me even hip you to a little bit closer though, Let me tell you why you are doing it without God and having some measure of success. Can I tell you why? Because of God's grace and mercy to us, because of His grace and mercy trying to keep us in spite of ourselves, for the real mission that He really got for us. See, that's the truth of the matter now now what we're talking about, nasty See. So yeah, yeah, you can do it without God, and you can have some measure success without God. And yeah, you know, you know, yeah you got your little degree and everything. Yeah, you completed the program, got all that, y'all to y'all of YadA. But don't you know something. It's because of God's grace and mercy that he helps us anyway when even when we ain't asking for help, when he bails us out anyway, when we don't even ask him to be bailed out. You know why, because He loves us that much that he would allow us to exist until we get our mind together where he could take us. Where really trying to take us. But now, let me tell you something though. Let's get this real straight and clear today. You can do this without God if you want to. But I am telling you to get to where you really want to be and to be all that God has for you. You got to have. God is no ifs ands buts about it. And let me tell you this here. I don't really care what nobody even told you. Are you listening to me? I don't care what they say. Don't get this thing twisted. They got these people out here talking about their luminatis and all listen, man, don't listen to me. Don't get caught in this mess. Don't get caught it no foolishness. You were created by God. God created you, ain't your soul. We were all created in His image, all of us. Don't get to talk about. You've been to cut a deal with it with the devil, and all you ain't cutting no deal with nobody. Man. The devil don't do deals. He one sided. I'm taking you to hell. You're going to hell, You're burning hell. That's his deal. I want your soul. I want you to lose hope. I want you to take your life. I want you to take some other people's lives. I want you to feel hopeless. I want you to realize that it ain't no God. That's his whole deal. His whole deal is negative. Oh, he can talk to you in the dealing drugs if you want to. But let me tell you something about this. I watched these shows all the time, drug ink and all this here, cocaine mafia. Everybody on now go to jail and get killed. Our prisoners is filled the day with our young boys because they thought they could outslick the system. They thought they had a way. They thought they said them been here and they failed. For the old cliche, man, I gotta do what I gotta do, I gotta get this money. Well, the only reason you gotta do what you gotta do is because, like I said all the time, you didn't do what you were supposed to do. Had you just done some of the things you were supposed to do, had you just stayed in that school when it didn't look right, well, if you had just formed a relationship with God and gotten rid of that. I ain't gonna make it that. I'm hopelessness feeling you wouldn't have found yourself doing something so far out the box got you out here being in the spirit that don't even belong to you. God ain't created you to be no dope dealer, or no such a thing or nothing even close to that. See, let's get your mind right and understand what's going on here. You know, That's what I need everybody. I need everybody to get me clearly about this. This is not going to happen without a relationship with God. It will not happen for you in any shape, form or fashion. Now one more time, for those of you that think you're making it without Him, I want you to understand something clearly. It is but because of His grace and mercy that we exist. And God is just taken care of you, looking out for you. Got some angels encamped around you until you get your mind right so he can get you where you're going. But now I want you to understand something. There's a cause and a consequence and a penalty for everything we do this outside the will of God. That's for all of us all of us have consequences, penalties and everything that we got to deal with outside of the will of God. Understand that, clearly, don't get this thing twisted sideways. You understand me. You know. I heard a young man tell me one day. He said, Steve, you know, man, I just don't see how God looking out for me, he would allow all these things to happen to me. I'm having such a hard time in my life. I really don't see how there's a God looking out for me. I live the young man, I said, the man, it's just something. Man, you're still breathing. He said, you understanding here talking to you? I said, you're still free. He said what you mean? I said, you ain't locked up on you? So no standing here talking to you. I said, where you get them clothes from? I bought him? I said, when you bought him with what? I bought him with? Money? So where you get the money from? You? So I got a job, Mr. I got a job. I said, well, well where you live though, he's I got apartment. I said, where you got department? Mr? Haw, I'm working. I got an apartment. I got a job. I was okay, okay, So now this this God ain't looking out for you. Think finish, Finish telling me what you're telling me. We'll see. Man, I'm having it real hard right now. I said, hey, hey, man, are you are you hungry? You have you had lunch yet? He said yeah, yeah, yeah, yea already had lunch yet. I said, okay, okay, so gone, finish tell me about this how God ain't looking out for you? He said, oh. And you know, man, every every time I try to do something, it seemed like it go wrong for me. I said, but let let me know match something, man, I said, every time you go wrong for y'all say, somehow you survive it. He said, yeah, yeah, I survive it some kind of way, but it's still be all messed up on me. I said, but but you still got through it though. He's yeah. I said, okay, man, go and finish telling me how God ain't looking out for you. And he stopped. He said him it is hard. He said, How come every time I tell you something that's going wrong, you keep telling me God looking out for me? I said, because you're still here, man, I said, See, you don't understand it. I said, you seem to think that you're supposed to just supposed to skate through life. That's all supposed to go how you want it, any kind of way. I said, Man, Jesus, the test of your faith, I say, God looking out for you the whole time. I said, every time you tell me something going wrong, are you seem to turn around and tell me how you survived? And you keep telling me what ain't going right? But you keep telling me all these things you have. I said, man, so what you gotta do is you gotta stop looking at what you ain't got, column, and start focusing on what you do have. Column. But if you ain't happy with nothing he hadn't done for you, you wanted to keep piling stuff on. I said, you fail in the test, young man. The test is are you grateful for where you are right now? So I could give you more so we can move forward? He said, oh, man, never even looked at like that. I said, well, why don't you take your blessed cell phone somewhere and sit down? He said, I think I'm going over here and let you finish talking. I said, thank you. So sometimes you just gotta look at what you do got, folks, that's all it is. Okay, you can't make it without God, y'all, you got me today. All right, let's be clear. Let's go. You're listening to Harvey Show. Ladies and gentlemen, I have your attention please. And then you're saying, then both of you and have you heard from it? Here? Okay, to hell with this week, queen. But in the past you've heard from Jenny. But then y'all like I didn't meet Janet. Y'all, y'all, she came out to the play to play. I was doing Mama's Boy. She came out and saw, I'll tell you what I'm gonna let my boy explain it. Johnny Gill is on the line right now, man, Johnny. First of all, Johnny, is this really Johnny gil Tommy. That's okay. Is he telling us a story that Tommy wanted him to tell us or is he telling us or the dust story? It's the truth. Um, Johnny, don't do that, okay, Tommy, Okay, all right, Tommy, UM can I mix it up? Mix it up up? N not doing this. I'm gonna telling man. Let me tell you. Tommy every night was turning it out into play and so you know, so, so then came U one night and she uh really really enjoyed Tommy and she kept going on he was and he was so good and and Tommy I introduced Tommy and dance and you know from there, I don't know how they talk. They talk. I don't know any of that stuff. I'm not getting up. I never I never heard him on the phone with it. But I'm just saying in uh, you know, in the sense of Tommy. You know that Tommy probably uh have talked to her. And I know I'm there some of her fan mail, white letters, email from him. I'm just talking and trying to get a hold to it and stuff. You start, I'm tweeting her. I'm not stopping her. Are you tweeting her? I'm tweeting her. Yeah. By the way, time you told me to tell you thank you for your emails. What did you email in her phone? She got to talk to Johnny down to tell, I said, tell, I said, Hey, when you talk to your please, do you call her jan like Johnny calls her jan Johnny Jackson. He called her miss Jackson because you have to respect every by telling well, she needs to laugh right now. She's gonna yes, but she's hanging in there. She's hanging in there as well as you know, everybody supposed to family. You know, you do what you can and do best that you can. So that's right. Yeah, Well, Johnny, thank you so much for vouching Tommy. I hope I came through for you. We're gonna talk, but you did, all right, you much love boy. We'll talk so Ny, we'll be back with more of the Steve Harvey Morning Show right after this, Simmy mid No, you're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show. Magic Johnson has given himself a deadline. The Lakers president of basketball Operations said there's no pressure to bring stars to Los Angeles during free agency. Furthermore, Magic says he is willing to put his job on the line and leave the organization if the Lakers don't improve after giving himself a deadline of two summers to turn the team around. Take a listen. If you judge us on one summer, that's ridiculous, then a lot of dude shouldn't be in their roles. I mean, because if we're banging on one summer for the Lakers, were in trouble. Right, We're in trouble because you have to give us time this class. Like I told you before I took the job, and when I took the job, it's going to be a two summer thing for the Lakers this summer and next summer, and that's it. And then if I can't deliver, I'm gonna step down myself. You won't have to fire me. I'll step away from it. Okay, I go here to my baseball team. I don't know who can I say something? Here? Go ahead? Of course, here's what the talk is that's gonna make cats so happy. Do you know that they actually talking about Paul, George Kauai and Lebron coming down coming to the lake. You'll said it was impossible, we thought it was gonna happen. I don't like that where would you like Lebron, he said, Philly or Houston. Houston is my number one pick for him, then Philly. But what I do like about you three to l A. The three of them could win it. But then the three best teams in basketball is in the West, and only one of them can come out. And I want to see a little bit more balanced, so I can see the two best teams end up in the finals because only one of them three teams can represent the West, Houston l A. If he went to l A and Golden State, and that ain't that ain't good for the league. I don't think. I just saw billboard outside the Houston radio stations in Houstonia King, I said, trying to get him. Yeah, so let me ask you this. Do you think do you see him definitely leaving Cleveland? Yeah. The only way he could stay in Cleveland is that is somebody wanted to play in Cleveland, if Kauai or Paul George wanted to play in Cleveland, and that he could do that. Yeah, I don't know if the Calves got enough for Kauai and Paul George. And the other thing, too, uncy, is that Jr. Smith got to be gone. Yeah, yeah, I thought we was up. The deadline is Friday, right, Yeah, I'm not sure if he has a market value. I mean, the guy can play basketball. He really came Cano. Yeah, he can hoop, but I don't you know, he just made a big mister ain't getting the game? Wanted the final right there? Ye, look, I thought we was up. What but at the same time, Junior that bought You have missed that free though, and then we wouldn't even be talking about this man water. That's what it is. That's why they played the game at the same time. If you're my teammate and you grab a rebound, you don't bring it back out to me. Learn something about Junior. He have a problem. Yeah, I know, Junior is aggressive when it comes too especially the hell is you doing out here out of eye with one second on the cloud and if you got the rebound under the basket, Yeah, and he dunk his butt off, he could have he could have put it right back up. Come on, right, so you can tell us each team you think Lebron James will choose. Go to all social media at Steve Harvey FM. That could be really funny in your show to put him in several situations. For example, you should do Jesse Jackson standing up for the dude that was Bobby Q and when the white lady reported him. Yeah. Yeah, and then you go on site to defeat the little black girl that was selling water bottles, bottles of water for the lady that called her in and you just go to like ridiculous things and show up as Jesse Jackson. But everything you go to is meaning the girl sell water for a quarters, trying to make some money for Yeah, I could do that. I could rock with that. You like that? Also? Do we have a mentory moment? Shirley believe that's what we just heard? Card? Thank you? Uh and he actually listened. All right, listen, we gotta get it on the radio. Jesse Jackson codmit to Junior, we gotta get out of here. They're not threatening the people, but we just want to help them. We want to let them know we're here for them, all right. If they don't won't help through, let's go alright subject without a doubt, it's time to get out here. Stephen Shirley, I am a twenty seven year old that is married and together. My husband and I have three kids. About two years ago, my in laws and their twenty one year old son moved into our three bedroom house. I was on board with them moving in because they had a hardship and needed some help until they got on their feet. Well that was two years ago and I have not seen any signs of them trying to get on their feet. Uh. My father in law does not work, and neither does the twenty one year old. They are both able body and able to work any type of job. My mother in law works as a hairstylist and my husband and I have to take her to and from work because they don't have a car. My husband is frustrated too, but feels like there's nothing he can do. We stress about bills every month now because we have three extra grown people to take care of and they don't offer to help with household expenses. Our three children are all sleeping in one bedroom so my in laws can have their own bedroom. My husband is a good guy, but I need him to get a backbone and put his foot down before I do. There is no excuse for him and his dad to allow his twenty one year old brother to be trifling and not get a job. I can't deal with this much longer. How should I fix this situation? Any advice you can offer will help. See see if people need our help. And I am with you. I am with you, lady who wrote this letter. Young lady who wrote this letter, Your husband definitely needs to get a backbone and put his foot down. These are his family members. They have been in his home for for two years. Uh misplacing his kids. You know his kids all have to sleep in one bedroom. How how is that? You know taking care of your own family first? Uh? Cleaving to your wife and taking care of your own family. You know, I get helping people when they're Um, you know when they have a hardship, like you say, but um, there are time limits and there are boundaries, and they have just you know, just disrespected all of that. And I think it is time now for you guys to sit down and have a family meeting and tell them that they have to go. Start helping them look for a place to go. Uh, help them the young man find a job, whatever you have to do. The mother in law working as a hairstylist, Okay, she makes money, but she's bringing nothing, uh to help you guys with food, with rent, with anything. Now, you guys got to sit them down and tell them that they have to go and all of that. I mean, I don't even know how it's gone on for two years. And you're right, this is your house too. You have every right to say something to them as well. But I see you want to respect your husband as the head of household. He should be doing this, Steve. I know this is a tough letter, and I'll tell you why they're young. She was okay with this at first because the you know, the in laws fell on some hard times and they wanted to help him out, so they moved him in. The problem is this one year old woman is married and yet and they got three kids. That's a lot to take care. Now your in laws move in and they your old son move into our three bedroom house. Now three bed rooms, I mean you and your husband got a room, y'all, three kids got a room, and the MoMA and daddy got a room. Where the twenty one year old stay? Where due to twenty one year old state? Is he on the couch? Is he in the room with your mom and daddy? That that's a good question I wanted to know. Now you helped him, that was two years ago. You ain't seen any sign of them trying to get on their feet. Your father in law does not work, neither does the twenty one year old. They both able body and able to work any type of job. Your mother in laws and hairstyle is y'all gotta take a two and from work because they don't have a call my husband. Now here's a deal. My husband is frustrated too, but feels like there's nothing he can do. We stress about bills every month now because we have three extra grown people to take care of, and they don't offer to help with household expenses. I three children sleeping in one room so my in laws can have their own bed with. My husband's a good guy, but I need him to get a backbone and put his foot down before I do. There is no excuse for him and his dad to allow his twenty one year old brother to be trifling and not get a job. Excuse me not. There's so much in here to that kind of dress. First of all, the dada ain't working, So how he gonna put his foot down and make another grown man get a job with his grown tail? Won'ta go out here and try to hustle up, no one. It's too many trifling people in this letter for you and your husband to win in this It's just too many trifle to people. Did daddy trifle? See? I'm not gonna let my son and my wife see me sitting around doing nothing while she's going out to work every day. So did daddy he trifle? The mama can't make a contribution to the household expense because she probably need every dime she made dress in hand to take carety to food. Now here's the problem that you staid said I need my husband to get a backbone. That's an unfair statement because that statement is filled with negativity. It is not that your husband does not have a backbone in this situation. He did, Amanda, and he tried to help his mom and daddy. You did a grown woman thing. You tried to help him too, because you saw that fell on some hard time. But this decision of letting his parents stay there and brothers stay there's not because a lack of backbone. It is because now what see, as you've decided to help them, you now got to decide what the cutoff point is. And we'll talk about that when I come back, because that's the problem with all right, we'll have part two of Steve's response coming up at twenty three after the hour. Subject of today's Strawberry Letter, without a doubt, it's time to get out. Right after this, let's turn to go two years you're listening to show, all right, Steve, come on, let's get to part two of your response to today's Strawberry Letter. Without a doubt It's time to get out? Is the subject? Well, you know, we talked about this reiterate seven year old woman with three kids, married to a husband. They have a wonderful family, have a three bed room house. Day in laws fell on hard times, they let him move in. Mom and daddy came to the house with the one year old son. They all stay in the house together. Now it's been two years. The mother works as a hairdresser, but they gotta take it to work because you ain't got no car, and then the daddy don't work and the twenty one year old don't work. My conclusion is is too many trifling people in this house. It's just too many of them. And the trifling people is his daddy and his brother, because he first of all, I'm not taking care of my twenty one year old brother. That's not going to happen. But I'm not taking care of my able body to as daddy either. I'm gonna say it again, it's too many trifling people in the house. The daddy trifling because he's setting a bad example to his wife and his sons. The other son, the twenty one year old, he trifling because he being everything he sees his daddy being. And it's okay with his daddy, so it's okay with him. You and your husband are the man in the middle. Now. He got his parents that he loved and you loved him to two years ago, and you let him move in because some tragic happital. Well, now, how long are we've been to do this now? And it's not that your husband, I will repeat this, kneeds backbone. It's not backbone. This is now a heart matter. This is not a matter of who's got backboned. This is a matter of the heart. How does your husband put his mama and his daddy out and they ain't got nothing. Here's the solution. They have to get another relative's house to go to. The twenty one year old got to get out now, and you give them sixty days to a move. Sixty days, y'all gotta be going. I want my family back, I want my life back, I want my house back, I want my children's rooms back. You all have sixty days to move, and you just gotta give them ultimatle man, because trifling people gotta be directed. True. Yeah, if you don't give a trifling person direction, they just keep being trifle. They know they're talking that the question Shirley, can I ask you a question? Yes you can. Who on this show used to be trip? Used to be Oh that's easy, Yeah, that's easy, he said, used to be used to be don't do this, used to be don't do that. Okay, what are we doing it? She has to answer the question. He's trying to make a point. Okay, that's easy. Let me take Shirley out of it. By Tommy. Yes, can I ask you a question? Go ahead? Did not you used to be trifling on the shot? Allegedly Carlin Ferrell word? Okay, let me clear this up. You wasn't. Allegedly you was tried, Shirley. We gave him an ultimatum and he straightened up. You gotta give trifling people all Tomato. Your mom and daddy and brother got sixty days to live. The brother here, how you Your brother got thirty days and he got to get out your I'm and daddy got sixty and they got to go. And on the thirtieth day, you just commenced the whipping your brother ass. He sounds like Tommy right then, that's what he would say. Are we clear? Yea at the thirty day mark. To make sure he leaves, you got to jump on me. Yeah. They can help them find someplace else. Good. That's it, folks. Now you ain't got to help them nothing. Let them find where they want to go live. That's it. Thank you for asking end of my response. And Tommy, it was used to be I haven't I got it? Surely I got it beyond that. Now you ain't gotta be chilly about this year. And it's not like I volunteered and Steve did ask me. Did you surely ever do anything or anything? Uh? I mean no, no, yes, you on this show? You have I ever done anything? Trifon, No, he ain't. Why why are you having no shirt? Yes, it's just you. It's you. You ain't been way Ah. Al right, guys, we gotta go. Um email us your Instagram. Hey, Steve Harvey, look first, I gotta get to it. Don't forget to check me out to Virginia Beach. Uh funny bout out of Virginia Beach, Virginia. I'll beat that this weekend and then the weekend out of the fourth. If you don't make accident fast are you're not going anywhere spending some time with you can't folk, Come on out to the Houston Improblem. I'm be in Houston, Carler and Tommy, I'd be out in Houston. I need to make us that money, you know. Sorry, I need to pay my credit card bills because I've been shopping on eBay and I'm killing on eBay. Um oh, I'm killing the game on eBay. I'm gonna look shop at the Mug at my conferences at five at our Grand Boulet is in New Orleans. I'm gonna look shop. Shout out my sor Rozafiba and my brothers. Okay, um, I gotta shout out to the Jackson family. You know, Joe Jackson passed on. He passed on. I have a joke that I tell him my actor Shirley you heard me tell this joke. Well, I say, y'all better have respect for Joe Jackson. Why because he was a father and there would be no Jackson five if it wasn't for them. Why because what other family of Jehovah's witnesses could make the greatest Christmas album in the history of man kind of Joe Jackson wasn't the father. We all bought it, and we knew that was jehov Winning. We respected that. But Joe Jackson was a good father, good businessman and father. The Janet and everybody, Reben all, Jermaine and everybody. I know all their names. So I'm just saying, when somebody pass on, let's not look at the bad things that people talk about. Let's look at the good things and send them on the be with the Lord. Okay, Did I do that right? Did I do that right? Like I had a lot of sense. Okay, Well we're about to not have sense right now? Why because everybody is in the uproar over the Supreme Court up holding the presidential authority of our current president, President of Trump. But don't worry, we can handle it. See, I gotta bring y'all some history into this um. The reason that's some of this stuff is coming about is because Trump verse right June, the United States Supreme Court of help Trump's travel band and declared that I don't even know how to pronounce this. Kura Matsu verse US was no longer good law and was decided it was wrongly uh utilized. Well, what law is this, brothers and sisters. It's the law of Kura Matsu verse the US in nineteen forty four, and that was the Japanese internment that they said the constitution. They had uphold the constitution and now it was bad law. What is my point? You could have a decision in nineteen forty four that they say it's good law, and get into two eighteen and they say it's bad law. Well, what else are you talking about, Caryl Latherway, I'm talking about Plassy versus ferguson eighteen ninety six landmark decision whether the Supreme Court of holled the constitutionality of racial separation that separate but eagle equal. But then it was overturned. Why Brown versus the Board of Education nineteen fifty four. Oh well, wait a minute, sherl, you're gonna go all the way back to eighteen fifty seven. That's right, the dread Scott decisions from dread Scott verse Sefered eighteen fifty seven, the U. S. Supreme Court held that a Negro, whether enslaved or free, could not be a citizen of these United States, and had no standards the suing federal court. But the Fourteenth Amendment of the United States Constitution in eighteen sixty eight granted of African America full citizenship. Why am I telling you this because they may rule on something today that we can deem bad law tomorrow, and that we need to look at the fact that President Trump may have the authority to do something, but his actions don't seem to be protecting and defending the Constitution, and that borderlines on treason. So let's get ready, brothers and sisters, and how can our name Now. I'm not accusing him of treason. I'm not accused. I'm just saying, if you're not upholding the Constitution, if the actions that you're taking as the president of United States are detrimental to the country, then we might as well start looking at impeachment and treason charges if they are realistically applicable. And now what are you talking about, brothers and sisters. I'm talking about the history of the law, and how does this connect to the Steve Harvey Morning Show? Because I know y'all was like, well, Sirl, how do you know all this stuff? Gotta shout out my gun sorority sister t Diane Surgeon, Who's the only person that I know that can argue before the Supreme Court. Only two people that I know personally that can do this. I can't say the other the name because I don't want to put their business on the street like that. You know what I'm talking about, Sam Strawberry and my good friend brother five Singma Harry Sutherland. But how do I connect Sigma and eater to this wave? Back in the eighteen hundreds, who was representing Dred Scott. In eighteen fifty seven, j Anthony Brown's ancestor Ja Ja was standing for Jehosa Fat Anthony Brown. They called him jumping Jehosah Fat because when he loses a case, he jumped. I didn't wint to a rundowns this black history. My mama was brought to you by the Steve in June. That's right, super June Te. So we're shouting out our good brother Juris Prunus all the way back in eighteen fifty seven, jumping Jehosa fat Anthony Brown, the great great great great grandfather of jack Man. But I wanted to bring y'all some history that all is not laws and the Supreme Court configuration. That's why we gotta vote, that's why they wanted to put Gorsic on the bench so they could have the five to four ruling. But we can turn it back. We need legislators to make better law and not enforce bad law. And then we need them to look at the presidential authority. We got a new type of president in the White House, and he's not using his authority for the benefit of the country. He's using it to divide the country and our allies, and that is not helping us. That's my point, and I brought it into humorous thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you. You said several things, very pointed laws and by laws that were created over used famous court cases. I will tell you I can guarantee you this. None of them which our president know anything about that right about it? Now. Secondly, his only concern, he has no concern about dividing the country. He only has a concern about winning. That's a parents of winning and his term as president. That's all he cares about. It. Doesn't care about the people. Right He's doing nothing for people. He's doing everything to wreck the Obama administration and his legacy. And that's what he thinks his job is right now. He's just right, yeah, that's right. Nothing. Hey, Cheryl, hang on a minute. We're gonna come right back with you. We'll have more of the Steve Harvey Morning Show right after this. You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show. All right, Cheryl, h We're back. We were talking last break about, oh man, the political climate right now. We were talking about, i mean, just everything that's going on right now. Let's finish that thought, okay. And just because you plan to your base and you're sticking to what you run on, sometimes you gotta pivot out of that. Even President Obama knew that he wanted to close Guantanamo, he knew he couldn't because where did all those people go? You know. So to me, what you gotta understand when you president, you have to look at what you ran on, but then look at what it's in the best interest of the country. And we've got to get ready. We've got to get ready. And I wish I had more time to talk about Maxine Waters and what she was really saying. For everybody that's against her, what she was really saying is, don't give safe haven to meanness, don't give safe haven to negative thoughts, don't give safe haven for people who are advancing this narrative. You must make the block hot all the time. She did not say anything violent about nobody. She didn't say do anything violent about nobody. She was speaking to the audience that she was in front of. And the biggest thing you got to understand that a restaurant or a business has a right to refuse service to anyone. What they don't have a right to do on a federal level is to refuse service based on your race, your sexual orientation, or your religious beliefs. That that's it. That's it. So if they want you out because my workers are uncomfortable with what you're advancing. As the spokesperson of this administration, and they politely asked you to leave. What problem do we have. We don't have a problem. Don't try to be a victim now when you've been victimizing people all of your term with this speak on it. You're not the victim, and you and your daddy need to get somewhere and set down with that. I'm sorry, did not go to just like Huckabees I used to like, I'm from Arkansas used I like him as a governor, but he's going too far. You need to sit down with that. So the girl got put out of restaurant. If she wasn't co signing on all this garbage, they wouldn't want to put you out of nothing. And it wasn't us. We didn't do that. She didn't walk up to no soulfood restaurants. She didn't walk into Silvia's, Eminem's. You know, she walked into a white, red hitting restaurant setting up and the white people said, not up in here. Our workers ain't happy about this, and they got the right to do it, just like they threw that lady out of the Mexican restaurants because you're messing with the Messican people. I wouldn't want to eat where I'm not want it, and they and this is what happens to It was at a Huck camp people. She came in late. They made the reservation under husband, so they didn't know who it was, right, So then when they came in, sat down, they even game achieved fate and they drank and everything, and so the workers called it yeah yeah for real. Yeah. And then and then the workers called and they said, Sarah Huck being here, we ain't comfortable. So the lady drove two hundred of miles that on the place, came down and said, well, what y'all want me to do? So they took a vote. They said we could put out and so then she walked up she said, can I talk to you for a minute. She didn't embarrass her. She walked outside. She said, I need to ask you to leave because of these reasons. Well, doesn't every establishment have the sign we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone that's right that you know their business. They put those signs up. But I really like what you said about Maxine Waters, Cheryl, because he's really getting raked over the coals about this, and by Democrats. You know, they're not sticking up. They're not stick king up for her or sticking with her. They just don't stick together. And because she said, wherever the people go in this administration, challenge them, walk up to them and tell them you are not welcome here. So then the President tweeted, he got mad and tweeted, and and everybody's talking about how she's trying to incite riots and he's calling for violence and all of that, and that's she's definitely not doing that. She's just saying, yeah, she never used those words. She's that's basically saying, clap back if you don't like it, just like they did at the restaurant with Sarah Huckabee. If you don't like something that this administration is doing, you have the right to clap back. But now they're saying that she's calling for violence and all of that. And these are even some Democrats that are not even coming to her defense. And and I've had debates with my colleagues and talk shows and stuff, and they say, well, where does it stop, Where does it stop? It stops that when you say I can't eat here because I'm black or on this race, or when it stops is when you say I can't eat here because of this religion. It stops when you say something that goes up against federal law. But your political belief is not covered by federal law. That's the issue, your political belief. Here's what happens when you say to Muslims, you can't come into this country, speak Steve, and then somebody in the restaurant say you can't come in this restaurant. How you don't see that? Right? You can't create the climate, and they're not gonna sit through the weather man. That's a T shirt like doctor law time. Still, you can't create the climate, and you don't want to sit through the weather. That's right, right, you need to play. Can you stand the raining over there on your ass? You made the climate, that's right. When the hailstones are coming, you created the climate man. When they can tie the way through, you created the club. That's right. Right right now, you don't want to play no more. That's right, because they're picking up your T shirt said my favorite T shirt. Don't let your presence. That's right. Listen to me. And now Sarah huckinb is gonna have a security detail where she needn't have secret service. But they're the ones that started the climate of this negative discourse and when white people are rising up to say this is wrong across the board. Now we know we got an issue. But by Steve Harvey's let me tell you something, I love that T shirt. I have been saying that in comedy clubs, that hood people have been saying to me. We need to let people know Trump gonna get your ass. What that's what everybody said. I love that T shirt. Go ahead, now catch your collar. Catch it. In the name of Jesus, keep my jobs. But I'm just glad if we who hold the microphone in radio can can enlighten, entertain, empower and elevate at the same time and bring clarity to these issues because our president wants to keep confusion. Yes, that's what he wants, because it distracts from what he's not doing. I bet Harley Davidson is not happy right now because of his terribs. And and then you messing with our allies and the things that you're doing the Supreme Court. All you did was uphold presidential authority. That's right. Change the laws. Man is the best show today, Steve Harvard, thank you for this, Thank you for this. Hey, all right, we'll have more of the Steve Harvey Morning Show right after this. So Tammy is trying to be a better person and not be with all that drama with her friends and castmates. While she taught to her pastor. Pastor John you'll know him from the own net work when him and his wife, Yeah he can preach, told Tammy to do an exercise, say something positive about the ladies. So Tammy decided to do this positive day retreat, bite all the ladies down and say something positive to each other. But let me just say this, I'm so old. Jennifer trying to be a tough girl, a bad girl. I don't know where she getting where that's coming from. That's bad acting, that's really anyway. Yeah she turned. I didn't get it. I don't Yeah, but surely Tammy told Shanny Lood that was a nasty rumor about her, but she didn't want to tell her about the rumor rumor though it was a rumor. So now moving forward, they get to this retreat. Tammy told Shanny move move anywife right. So Malaysia at the retreat told Jennifer, you better come clean about this room. So Jennifer and Tammy said that at the time back in the day. They used to beef with Evelyn a lot. So Shannie was like, get to the rumor. What does that have to do with me? So Jennifer said that there was a rumor that Evelyn slept with Shawnee's ex. They beeted out the name. But you have to assume we Sha, So that's what you have to assume that they were talking about Shack. Well, Evelyn, roll with you down. She broke down. She denied the room. Evelyn, It's true that when you break down, it was true, I believe, and I was very upset about this one. Evelyn was crying, Steve. You know her friendship, her and Shawnny are girls. They are girls. She was very upset with the women bringing this room up, you know they were. She was saying, this room is old. She swore on her children. She told Shanny to call her ex, which we're assuming was shock, and then about to talk this ship you cry for. I was clarity this ship because we need clarity on this. This is wrong and we need clarity as anybody so much. Come on, so stupid, it's so stupid, as you can imagine, Steve, everybody. Shanny was shook. We gotta go more than the Steve ify Morning the Show with thirty three after shut up, Tommy Sho, you're listening to Steve Hardy Morning Show. Well, some very sad news. Joe Jackson, of course, the patriarch of the Jackson family, has passed away. Family sources tell TMZ that Mr. Jackson passed away about three thirty a m. Wednesday in l a Uh. He was hospitalized in June UH this month with terminal cancer. Earlier, he had been battling health problems for a while now. He was hospitalized back in two thousand sixteen after coming down with a high fever, but he bounced back not long after and was seen partying in Vegas. His health was also fragile after a stroke and three heart attacks back in two thousand and fifteen. Joe Jackson had ten kids with Catherine, his wife more than sixty years. The two did not live together and had a strained relationship for the last years of his life, but they frequently interacted. Joe was eighty nine. Sad news. I mean, you know, he got a lot of heat for a lot of stuff. You know, after things came out that he spanked his kids and whipped his kids. Whatever you want to say. Well, you know, if it wasn't for him, come on, I never I never held at it gives to neither, did I sank? Yeah? Boys, anyway, so we got I don't know what to do. Yeah, that was just during that time. That's what I tell you what the Kids show turned into some stars. Yes they did they Yes, Yes, he did, Yes he did. So I'm thinking about going in and kicking my kids. Ain't of No, he did not, Yes he was, yes, yes, And I hope you know eight nine that's a full run. Yeah, yeah, you know, I love to do eighty nine be a nice run too, though. Yeah. He's the father of the King of Yes he is, Yes, sir, No, man, he was. He was a dude. Man. He believed in hard, hard work, hard work. But um, anyway, yeah. Yeah. Joe Jackson Jackson St. Patriarch of the Jackson family, has died at eighty nine. Wow. Janet performed at the Radio Disney Music Awards. It was the past Saturday, kind of like the same weekend as BT Awards, and she mentioned her father's failing health and um. She had a good speech. She was an icon honored, you know at the Radio Disney Awards. It's so sad, Yes, it is. How's Janet doing? She seems to me? Yeah, she seems to be doing Janet doing your friends. I haven't talked to her this week. I haven't talked to her this week, but I would check on her. Excuse me, how would he know how Janet is doing? Well? He claims? You know, well, you know, But I let me clear something up for you. You didn't talk to her this week, you didn't talk to her the week before, and you ain't spoken her the week before. But have you spoken to her the week huh? But Steve, he did say that she came with Tyler right to see his play. Remember when he was doing Mama's Boy. Did anybody see the picture? No picture? Well, he didn't take a picture. He didn't want to fan call Johnny. That's what we call him, Shirley. All the pictures, this boy seeing us? Yeah, yeah, that we know him. Him with two tall women, him with baby clothes on him, was trying on the sas six, him, him at the half, him at the swimming He sent pictures for everything. Ain't no picture, Jenny? Alright, Steve coming up closing remarks right after this you're listening, Steve Harvey Morning Show. All right, here we are, last break of the day. It's been a good day, good conversation. Again, our condolence is going out to the Jackson family at the passing of the patriarch of the Jackson family, Mr Joe Jackson. He was eighty nine years old. And uh, anyway, Steve closing remarks, is your it's on. Yeah, you know what, And I think I think, you know, he got a bad rap for things. But those kids missed a father and I bet they all grieving. And people talk about what Joe Jackson did wrong? What about what Joe Jackson did right? To do a lot of things right. So in honor of that, I have to say, man, condolences to the family. You know, Janet, Reaby, Marl and Tito, they all they all struggling today. You know, I'm sure they are because whatever problem you may have had at the end of the day was your father and and that's got to mean something to people. So I think people should stop talking about the negative that Joe Jackson did. Like Sherylene Wood said what she called him. What about the positive stuff he did? You know, he did a lot of positive things. You know, but they only wrote about the negative. He beat the kids, my daddy beat me. Okay, I'm okay, So I'm good with that. Let's move on to something else. Surely I have an idea, Okay, Um, This idea is to just talk to people for a moment, just about what is it you want. Just sit down and just focus today on what it is you want. Explore your dreams, your aspirations, explore your imagination today. Sit with yourself and aink about bright your future actually could be. If you want to really do something to lift your spirits today, let your imagination run free. Open up your mind to your dream capacity. Starting visioning things. Write it down the things that you would love to see happen. If you could imagine yourself being anything, where would it be? Where would it be? What would you do? If you could be anything and you knew that there was no chance of you failing at it? What would you do? These exercises are great mental exercises to to give though the imagination muscle and the dream muscle some practice. I was talking to a young couple the other day, and this young couple asked me for advice and why they relationship had got so stagnant, all of us sudden, and how they weren't laughing and having fun. And when they got through talking to me, I told him, I said, one of the things that seems to me like you're doing is you're not You're not planning anymore. You know, you can be in a couple, You could be a couple, or you can be in your life. If you stop planning, if you stop envisioning, if you stop dreaming, life get real flat for you. That's if you're in a relationship, if you're a young couple, if you're old couple, if you single sitting in the room by yourself, if you stop imagining, envisioning, and dreaming, your life can start to feel really flat. And what I do to boost myself from time to time with my incredibly busy schedule. Sometimes on the work I just imagine what is it all for? What could I accomplish if I did this in my wiles imagination. What would I love to see happen? Where would I really like to go, What would I really like to do, What would I really like to have, What would I really like to own? What would I really like to buy? Where would I really like to see? What would I really really love to do. It's a great exercise, folks. It's an exercise in exercising that muscle of imagination and dreaming and visioning, and it will keep you moving forward. What gets people stuck is when they stop having dreams and visions. The Bible says, a man without a dream or vision show parish. And if you see no future, if you have stopped imagining yourself intomorrow in a better place, if you no longer or warning things because you've been beat down by the process so much that you think getting it is too difficult, you're in trouble, my friend. But you can change that because the Bible also says that a man is as he's thinking. So if you think positive thoughts, you can inflict a lot of positive things into your life. You can inject a lot of positive things in your life. You can attract a lot of positive things to your life. So don't spend your time being negative, suffering in the condition you in now. What you're going through now is so temporary. Open up your imagination, your dreams, and your vision and what you automatically start to feel better about moving and forward. If you're the couple and y'all didn't hear the stagnant place. I can promise you y'all ain't been sitting down. Y'all haven't sat down and talked about what your dreams are together, what your visions are, what your plans are for the future. You're just going through the motions. And if you're going through the motions, it ain't gonna last. All right, those are my closing remarks. How come when you get the new idea or thank of some new you always say, Hey, Shirley, Shirley, this is what I want to do. Why you don't say, Hey, Timmy, Timmy, this is what I want to Well, it's because I'm a smart guy, Tommy, and if I don't want to interject foolishness into my idea, I don't talk to the food. You don't think I have a great weekend? Do you? Thank h for all. Steve Harvey contests no purchase necessary void where prohibited.
