Smith Show, coming at you over the digital airways of YouTube and.

Of course our heart radio.

Now I'm standing here before you right now, but I'm not really doing that because I'm on vacation. Okay, So I had to tape a little something for you, because you know why, I know in the crevices in your heart, deep deep down somewhere, you miss me. Therefore, I wanted to make sure I gave you a little something when I walked away and went away to an undisclosed tropical location. Having said all of that, I just want to let you know that on this particular show, shows like this, you gonna see tweets, You're gonna see videos, You're gonna hear phone calls. Why because the people like to communicate with me, and I like to be a man of the people. That's what I problem myself being now. Ain't trying to run for election. I ain't trying to run for El presidente. I don't want that responsibility. Okay, I don't know what I do if I was the president of the United States. I ain't trying to kiss babies and shake everybody's hand all the damn time, all right, But on this show, I get to communicate with you in different ways. Tweets, phone calls, videos. Either way you're slicing, you're still getting a little bit of stephen Aate. You know how happy I am to give myself to you. You know it. So let's get to some of these tweets to start off the show. Okay, let's go to them right now at cant loop underscore f f rights Stephen A. Smith, who is the best fictional president of all time. Wow, this is a good one right here. I loved my brother here he was in twenty four. That was a spectacular season of twenty four on Fox. I got to give love. Whereas this is Independence Day right here. Okay, he I he was good. Okay, black woman, female president. Every time I see something like that, I think about Michelle Obama, the greatest first lady in the history of this nation. But I gotta tell you something right now, as I see Dave and I see a couple of other folks, it comes down to West Wing. Okay, and this one right here, this man was playing Bill Clinton, the one and only John Travolta. I forgot the name of the movie. I apologize it'll come to me in the second. It'll come to me do a second. But I'm telling you right that. I mean when he set up there the primary colors, primary colors, he was like, I'm just dim, I can stay trying to sound like Bill Clinton. And he did a pretty damn good job of it too. Because he was a philanderer. We know this and all that other stuff. I would say this to you, this was great because he did a phenomenal job.

You know, it was a fable, you know or was it real? And stuff like that.

He's supposed to you know, you go think Bill Clinton and stuff like that. But they didn't admit he was trying to play Bill Clinton, but it clearly he was. But this man right here, mister Sheen himself, West Wing doesn't get any better than that man right there, spectacular. This would be the choice right here, President fictional president. Next up, let me show you, let me see the next tweet. Please give it to me. Please give it to me at crypt underscore ghost with a zero instead of it. Oh, Steven Ate Smith needs you to end this discussion once and for all. Who's the next face of the league, Aunt Luca Tatum, Wimby or who we want to know what you think, oh Ja, let me say this to you. Is the real deal. He's special, He's got an incredibly bright future.

You know why I.

Wouldn't say face of the league because face of the league means you be in box office, off the court. It's not to imply that he won't be because he's from France. He's an international figure, not American born and what have you. So he's gonna have that audience. And I get that. But he's seven five. He's seven five, and most people know we ain't got no chance in hell it ever being seven to five in any capacity.

Okay, we get all of that.

This man right here, ant Man, Now, I saw what Luca did to them in the conference finals, and I get that. But when you see ant Man on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball, when you see the fervent and the fire that he brings to the table, ladies and gentlemen, when you look at ant Man, it's impossible not to think about Kobe Bryant. It's impossible not to think of Michael Jordan. I know, Luca's a bad brother. He's spectacular. He gonna put thirty on you. I know, Tatum is the reigning champion. Okay, I know when Beyonna is seventy five, he's the number one overall pick the raining Rookie of the Year. He's a spectacular talent, only going.

To get better.

But ant Man, when you talk about box office wanting to walk through the turnstile to see this brother play. Not to say that all the others you don't want to see them play either, but ant Man and God's Son a little extra, I would say, aunt Man is the answer to this question.

Next tweet, Please let me see what you got here? All right? At Nsports ESPN Steven A.

Smith, what is the proper amount of cash to keep in your wallet? Two hundred dollars? Now, five hundred could be a bit excessive, particularly if you got a bunch of twenties, a thousand and all of that stuff can be excessive. But fifty dollars, twenty dollars, that's too little.

And here's what I want you. And I'm very serious about this.

I don't wish this upon anybody, but I want you to understand what I'm trying to say. I'm from the streets, I'm from Hollis, Queens, and I'm Queens New York. And I'm telling you this. If somebody wants to rob wanted it to rob you, and they stick you up and you got ten dollars on you or something like that, they want to do you home because they annoyed. They took the risk, and you ain't got anything to show for it. But if you got about two hundred dollars in your pocket, at least they could get a meal, or a couple of meals, or a few meals.

They could fill a gas tank.

They could do a lot of different things with two hundred dollars. It don't have to be five hundred. It doesn't have to be a thousand. Everybody can't afford to walk around with that, but you could. You could dig up two hundred dollars, perfect amount to carry on you at all times. It's about two hundred dollars. If you got to call an uber because your car breaks down, you can get a ubuer with two hundred dollars. You understand, need some gas, you could get gas two hundred dollars. You want to stop at a fast food restaurant and beyond, you got two hundred dollars, you could do that. You got you at the lorand you got a couple of people, you can afford to treat them too, all right, you'd afford to stop it in a restaurant or whatever, and not an expensive one, but you could to stop in the restaurant you can get a meal with two hundred dollars. Two hundred dollars is the perfect number?

Am I right? Ross? I think so? Next tweet, let's go at was it? Hry chillick.

Hr y c h l I case Stephn Smith? How much money would it take to get you and Shannon in a boxing ring? Nothing? Never you expect me to get in a boxing ring with the Black Hulk? Are you insane? Why don't you just ask me to sign my own damn death warrant?

Do you know? True story?

I was talking to Shannon one time and I was just sitting there wrapping me like, YO, probably let me you know what saying? And again I laughed at it. I laughed with him because I love him to death, mat I got to know him. I love my brother right there. But I loved it when Saturday Night Live spoofed him and Kat Williams you're saying it was imitating. It's the truth, Shanning.

You know what he was doing all that Saturday Live. It was hilarious.

So he and I were talking and I'm talking like I talk right, and I accidentally poked him with my fingers out like this in his chest. Almost broke my damn fingers. He's the man that steals that brother, the black hole. I ain't getting in no damn boxing. We're gonna get into an octagon. Hell, I don't. The only place I want to be up against him is on first.

Take and we talking. I ain't trying to mess with that brother. You under say what I'm saying.

I mean, hell, even when he had beef with with with with Mike Gaps and stuff like that, my gaps. I ain't gonna be no fighting. Now you see people talking about him, No, nobody talking about fighting that man.

That's the black hole. You better ask.

Somebody, Shannon the real one. Now make them say he said up there, Michelle Obama said, when they go high, when they go low, you go high. He said, no, when they go low, I go to the basement. That's what Shannon has said. That's what shit, and he means it.

He means it.

That's the man to steal right there. That that's the black hole. Ain't nothing getting me in the ring with that brother. I know I look good and I'm in really good shape right now, and I'm feeling really good about myself. But I'm anorexic compared to his ass. I ain't messing with that brother.

Oh, No, brother, know.

His lane, Brother know his lane. Love you, Chay, Shay. Let's go to the last sweet right here. Please, let's go to it right here at potato gobbler right stephen A Smith Top five ways to enjoy a potato.

I only know two. Mashed and baked. That's it.

You're gonna add butter on it? Okay, that's the third, all right, sweet potato. If you want to say that's the fourth, Okay, fine, because I like my sweet potatoes, so only things I know. I ain't trying to get created with no damn potatoes. Okay, French fried that's five. That was my producer, just got my ear. I ain't gonna steal credit. He would steal credit, but I'm not a thief. It was him that told me that that's not me. Potatoes, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, baked potatoes, baked potato with the butter. That's the five I hope that answers your question. You know what's next. By the way, I hope y'all like that segment with the tweets phone calls the next we like to hear what people have to say. I appreciate people just calling up and let my brother know how they feel. It's a good thing. It's never a bad thing. More to stephen A. Smith, show back what you're five minute? Okay, everybody, you know what time it is, right, It's time for stephen A's weekly picks. Everyone knows I live and breathe sports and I need to be right there in the middle of all the action.

And how do I do that? Exactly? I use Prospects. That's how you see.

Prospects is the largest fantasy sports platform in all the land, with over three million members.

Not only that, it's incredibly easy to play.

You just choose two or more players and pick more or less on their projected stats for the game. And the best part, you can pick players from any of the sports you love to watch, Caitlin Clark, Aaron Judge, or even Scotti Scheffler and get this sign up with code SAS and Prospects will give you fifty dollars instantly when you play your first five dollar plus lineup. You don't need to win your lineup to receive the fifty dollars bonus. It's guaranteed. All you have to do is play a five dollar lineup on prospects and you'll get fifty dollars instantly. Now, let's look at my winning picks. Okay, since football season is right around the corner, guess what I'm getting started early with my picks for total pass yards by a quarterback in the season. Let's look at who we've got. Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers more or less than three seven hundred and forty nine.

And a half yards.

I'm going with more. He sat out last season. Four plays into the season he got an injured to his gillies out for the year. Here you are with a guy like Gary Wilson, a target who is elite, make no mistake about it. He can make things happen. I look at Aaron Rodgers. I think he's gonna put on the show this year. I think he's gonna make major noise.

I'm going with more.

I'm going to thirty seven hundred and forty nine yards. Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott more or less than four thousand, ninety nine and a half yards, Ladies and gentlemen, is easy.

It's easy. It's more.

You know why it's more because it's the regular season. You know, we know he's allergic to postseason. We know he ain't gonahow up in the postseason, okay, But during the regular season from September through December, I mean, Dak Prescott's all world and he believes getting his numbers. He believed in getting his numbers, So he's definitely gonna do that. They're gonna throw the football all day every day. We know how Mike McCarthy's gonna do it. We know they're gonna allow it. Okay, So Dak is gonna be just fine. He's gonna get his yard and he's gonna get his stats, and it's gonna position him to get his new his new dollars, his big time contract. We know they just ain't.

Gonna win come playoff time.

As long as you can accept that, you'll be just fine. Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson more or less than three thousand, two hundred and ninety nine and a half yards. I'm gonna go with more in today's generation, you're usually throwing for over thirty eight hundred yards if you're a quarterback, if you're a big time quarterback in the league. But none of them can run the football from the quarterback position the way that brother Lamar Jackson can. So when you look at it from that standpoint, he'll get his yard, and he'll do just enough to be over three thousand yard, thirty two hundred yards, thirty three hundred yards. But most of his death, some of his damage rather is gonna be from running the football as well, because he ain't gonna have to throw it as much as others have to. And that's where you get that from. I'm still going with mortal and rookie quarterback. Last on the list, it's Caleb Williams of the Chicago Bears.

More or less than three four hundred and forty nine and a half yards. He's a rookie.

He's a rookie, ladies and gentlemen, unless he's the second coming of the CJ. Stroud, And I'm not sure I'm ready to go there as of yet. I'm going to say less. Do I think he'll have over three thousand yards passing? Yes? I do? Do I think it'll be more than three thousand, four hundred and forty nine and a half yards. I don't know about that. I'm going to go with last on Caleb Williams. That don't mean he's gonna have a bad year. It doesn't mean he's gonna stick up the joint. It doesn't mean that Chicago Bears haven't found their quarterback in the future. I'm just saying I'm not sure it's going to be more than that. Those are my picks. Flow with it, y'ard, That's what I do. Welcome back to the Steven A. Smith Show right here over the digital airways of YouTube and of course iHeartRadio.

This is a special edition of The Stephen A.

Smith Show because I am on vacation, but I wanted to make sure that I gave you a little something to think about me and they'll remember me by while I'm away at my undisclosed tropical location. And in the midst of doing all of that, I just figured, Hey, I took tweets earlier, let me take some calls next, okay, Cause you like to hear from the people, not just read what they say.

I want to hear what they say.

From time to time. Okay, if you're brave enough to call, I'm brave enough to listen.

So let's get right to it. Nike in in La, you're live with stephen A. What's up?

Hey, stephen A, how you doing today?

I'm alright, talk to me? What's up? So?

When you got guys like Mario, Sonic the Hedgehog, Steve from Minecraft, who do you think is the best Super Smash Bro's character to use?

I have no idea. I have no idea. I'm a grown ass man. How old are you? Man?

I'm sixteen.

Oh you're sixteen. So you're asking the fifty six year old man about video games?

Hey, I mean I don't I think everyone can play video games?

No, no, no, I'm not.

I'm not knocking no, no, no no no. I'm not saying that you're that you're wrong for like asking.

Me about it. It's the expectation that I would know what you know? You know what I'm saying.

I mean, could you have asked do I watch it?

Do I play it?

Or something? I mean, I'm kind of busy, you know what I'm saying. But I will admit I want to learn. I got to play some of these video games. Because my daughter's be getting on me about it all the time. So you're absolutely right, You're not wrong. I'm just saying, it's one thing that asks. It's another thing to have the expectation.

You feel me.

You're right, you're right.

That's like me asking you. That's like me asking you did you pay the mortgage?

Would you say your favorite video game is?

Then listen, I don't play a lot of video games. I really really don't. I don't at all. It's people around me that's playing them. You know what I'm doing, Man, you won't tell you what I'm doing, Like, ready for this, Oh, I'm buying the damn games. I'm buying the games from my two daughters, for for for my fifteen nieces and nephews, for for for for some of their kids, because some of my nieces and nephews are in their thirties. It's stuff like that. Man, it's stuff like that.

But I appreciate it experience, you know.

Okay, Okay, So give me some advice, Give me some advice. I'm listening.

I'd say, i'd say bye. You could buy Super Snashkers. You could play Minecraft, Okay, Minecraft.

I heard about I was watching my daughter play that.

Okay, that's a really good game to play.

All right, Okay, I'll try it. Listen, do me a favor.

Call me back in a couple month, give me a couple of months. Warm up.

Okay, call me back in a couple of months and ask me about it.

All right, Yeah, I got it.

I'm gonna get it. I'm gonna go get it, and you deserve the credit for it. I'm gonna get it just because you told me to.

It better not be no.

Whack ass game now, yeah, yeah, it better be fun.

I bet now.

I'm telling you right now. I better have a good time doing it.

Yeah, you'd have a great time playing like Super Snashals and Minecraft.

I'd say, okay, all right.

I'm gonna take your word for it. All right, Thanks a lot, man, Appreciate the love. Caleb in New York, you live and.

Steven they talk to me, he stew you doing.

I'm doing all right?

Thank you for calling? What's up?

Yeah?

I have a food question for you? You ready, I'm listening?

All right?

If you could have one but never have the other? Are you picking steak or fried chicken but never have the other? You never have the other?

Like if I eat one. I have to sacrifice the other forever. Yes, well, I'm gonna sacrifice. I'm gonna sacrifice. I ain't gonna lie to you. I mean, it's not the greatest thing for a black person to admit, but I'm gonna sacrifice the steak to make sure I can get the chicken. Okay, I'm just gonna be honest with you.

This is the truth.

I see you.

We ain't gonna be phony on this show. I eat steak a lot, but that's because I need the protein. And I'm trying to put on way because I got in shape and stuff like that. But I lost a lot of body fat, you understand, and now I'm trying to put on some pounds.

Okay. That's that.

That that that's why I eat the steak. I eat the chicken because it's delicious and I love it.

But but what if you wanted to go to a nice restaurant and you cannot You can never order a state. What happens?

Then you order seafood?

Oh, seafood. I didn't even think about that competition.

That's right, that's right.

The salmon, the salmon, all right, you're right. You got shrimp, you got crabs, you understand. You got all of that.

Yes, you go see you right? Oh?

By about this lamb.

Good too, as in lamb chops.

How much you weigh?

Man? How much you weigh?

Because you sound fat because you get given up on food? You said, how much do you weigh? Twenty and I'll totally you And.

How old are you?

I'm twenty two, sir.

Okay, that's You're a big boy for twenty two years of age. You know that, right?

Oh yeah, okay, but I'm on keto now.

Okay, okay. You don't have to do it.

You don't have to listen, you don't have to do all of that. All you got to do is get in the gym on a regular basis. You remember, it's a lifestyle and getting the gym, getting the gym five six days a week.

And all you got to do is thirty.

Minutes of cardio and watch your intake, particularly at night. You want to make sure you don't eat prior to about three hours before bed.

That's right, all right, brother, take it.

Easy, my man. Appreciate it. Man, appreciate it. Chris and California, talk to me, you love with steven A.

What's up? Baby?

Hey, how's it going man a right, So yeah, okay, that's good. So I'm getting a little bit tired of not you in particular, but just people in the media not giving Rock Purty his credit. I mean, I don't really know what else he what else he has to do to I mean, you know, prove the doubt or is wrong. I get it. He lost the Super Bowl. Many quarterbacks have lost the Super Bowl. I mean, he's got four thousand passing yards. The last season.

One of the.

Things was, oh, he can't play from behind. He did that twice in the playoffs, and then you know, we get to, oh, but you know he's not mobile.

Came back against Detroit. I thought they were gonna lose that game at halftime. Came back against Detroit. I gotta get credit with credit to do, you, right, Chris?

Yeah, I mean and that was there. That was That was pretty cool. But I just want to know why, why is it so hard for people to admit, well, he is a top ten quarterback.

Let me tell you why. Let me tell you why.

First of all, I agree with you, so let me get that out the way first. I agree with you, all right, but let me play devil's advocate. Here A lot of times you're looking at the guys when they're playing the quarterback position. You're looking at their arm strength. Going are the days where you look at somebody you might be too young to notice or whatever. But a Kenny Stabler, for example, they used to play for the Raiders back in the day. He couldn't throw a long ball to save his life, but he would pick you apart piece by piece with short yardage throws in between the seams. Rock Purdy is an efficient quarterback, every efficient, I might add, master Kyle Shanahan's system. Not to mention the fact that again he has shown up and he has won. He has proven to be better than Jimmy Garoppolo. He has proven to be, at least at this point, better than Trey Lance. He's proven to be better than a plethora of others, anybody that has been coached under Kyle Shanahan, outside of Matt Ryan when he was the offensive coordinator in Atlanta and Matt Ryan was his quarterback.

But here's the problem, Chris.

When you're looking at arm strength right and you see that something is lacking, and then you take into the into account that you can dip, dick and dunk the ball to a Christian McCaffrey, to a Debo Samuel to a lesser degree, to a Brandon Ayuk and of course George Kittle. Those plethora of weapons forces you to look at the team and say, damn, he got a lot to work with. A lot of other quarterbacks didn't have that. When we saw CJ. Stroud making noise last year, okay, he had.

Tanked l Is his wide receiver.

So you look at things and you say, you say to yourself, guys, that can fling the ball or what have you. Even to a tongue of a lower got more credit. Why because to a tongue of a lower can throw the long ball. And in our eyes we think throwing long balls shows that you're legit quarterback. But you're right, Rock Purdy needs to be appreciated more. But I do understand the reservations because what you're asking is that if he had the receivers that Patrick Mahomes had last year that was dropping damn near every pass he threw and all he really had to rely upon was Travis Kelsey, would Brock Purdy have been as good as he was. That's how you have people judging you, and you got to understand that.

Well, one of the problems I have with that is, you know, we like if we put let's let's say Josh Allen, right, I mean he has Stefon Diggs right, and he like he has a he has leapons, but we never but we still keep him at the oh he's an elite quarterback.

Well, I gotta get ready to go.

But let me tell you why, because we saw him in that AFC Championship game form at a very elite level against Patrick Patrick Mahomes. That's number one, number two.

He's a stud. He's six six sixty seven.

He's running over opponents, he's throwing out, scrambling outside of the pocket, throwing off balance, doing a lot of things that show you his athleticism and his greatness is supreme the most others. That's the issue. When we see brock Purty, we know how efficient he is, but we also believe that he's incredibly protected by a god by the name of Kyle Shanahan who's considered one of the greatest offensive minds in football and does an incredible job of protecting his quarterback.

So those are things you can't ignore either.

But again, you do have a good point in terms of asking a legitimate, legitimate, bona fire question, and I can't deny that. Appreciate the love, Chris, Thank you so much. Keep it coming, Brendan and Arizona.

Your live with steven A. How are you?

I'm fantastic, are you?

I'm all right? Talk to me? You live with your boys?

Stephen A, what's up up?

So obviously I don't know if he saw all you probably did. Tom Thibodeau was extended three years. I did, And I'm just curious if you think, for one, what do you think of that decision?

You know, I think I think it's the right decision. I think it was the right decision, and I think Tom Thibddau has earned it, and I think he's proven me wrong. I thought that ty Loo would have been a better coach for the New York Knicks. I thought that was somebody that the New York Knicks should have pursued.

I like, I respect the hell.

Out of Tom Thibodeaux, and I know that he's done a decent job with the New York Knicks.

But I always have this fear that.

He'll run you into the ground and you'll get hurt during the playoffs. Now, the New York Knicks had everybody hurt during the playoffs. Mitchell Robinson got hurt, oh Jenna Nobe got hurt, Josh Hart got hurt, Jaylen Brunson even got hurt everywhere you turned.

But the bottom line.

Is is that that wasn't Tom Thibodeau's fault because you knew guys had been hurt earlier in the season and they had received a certain level of rest. So therefore you can't blame him for running into them into the ground because he didn't have them available to run him. For him to run them into the ground, I think he's done an exceptional job. He deserved the contract extension, and he deserves a mere cope or for me personally, because I thought that Todd lou would be better suited for the next job, and after the way he had them playing in the first two rounds of the playoffs, I can't say enough about the job that Tom Thibodeau did. He deserves the contract extension. That's where I'm at with it. All Right, Brendan, that good enough for you.

Do you think they're ready to compete with the likes of the Celtics this year?

No, Well, let me take them back, they can compete.

I think they need an additional big man now the Lois Hartenstein. They need an additional big man. But I like their coreps. I like Jujus Randall coming back. I like Mitchell Robinson coming back. I love to pick up the bridges. You kept Anonobe for two hundred and twelve million dollars. Jalen Brunton is re upped with you, and on top of it, though you still have Josh Hart and Dante DiVincenzo.

I don't have a problem with that at all.

I think the New York Knicks can our battles, test it and can give you a run for your money to some degree, but not to the degree that the Philadelphia seventy six ers can do with Joel and B. Maxie is no joke, Paul George with Maxi and Joel Embiid won't be a joke.

But Joel and B make no mistake. Is the X factor.

If this brother is one hundred percent healthy, he is unstoppable on one leg. He averaged thirty five on the Knicks. This brother is scary great and and I can't put the Knicks above them. With the arsenal, the offensive arsenal that the seventy six ers have available to them right now. All right, appreciate the call.

Noah and Alaska. You're live with steven A. What's up, Noah? How are you?

I'm good? Stem all right?

Talk to me?

All right.

So my question today was basically regarding Michael Pennix, and I'm thinking if he should say in Lana, and if he does decided to say in Olandah, how long well will it take until Hero placed Kirk Cousins?

Well?

What what?

What's wrong with him staying in Atlanta? The brother hasn't even passed gas hit in the NFL, hasn't even passed. He's not he has not farted in the NFL yet. Yea, hasn't even been a preseason game play.

Why are you talking about how long should he be in Atlanta?

I just think the pay pick was not a great pick, Okay, because we we picked up the Falcons picked up Kirk Cousins.

Well you think, Tom on, Tom, Tom, tell about do you think it wasn't a great pick because they picked him up? Or do you think it wasn't a great pick because they already had Kirk Cousins.

I think it wasn't a great pick because we already got Kirk Cousins.

All right, now, let me stop you right there.

What is kirk cousins record in the postseason?

Uh?

That great?

How about one?

How about the man has one playof victory? Now the brother great at getting his money? Whoever his agent is, we should all hire, Okay, because he's great at getting he's great at getting at getting his money. But he's like one and three in the postseason.

Hey, but he's got weapons around it.

You know what?

What?

What the hell was justin Jefferson chop Liver.

He has the weapons.

I just I just think the coaching staff in Atlanta, I think is a little bit better than well.

You know what.

That's not saying a lot compared to what they had. I mean, I'm glad Arthur Smith is and Pittsburgh is an officive coordinator, but as a head coach, I mean, I'm not about to brag home about it. So I get what you're where you're coming from. But I also think it's okay to pick up Pennix Junior. Considering the fact that kirk Cousins is coming off of his of his of his leg injury, I think that's the right thing to do, because you want to insure yourself at the quarterback position, why not get a young brother with a rifle of an arm as a south pole that can step into the lineup and make things happen in the event that your quarterback who was hurt last year, who's coming back fresh off of an injury, doesn't have it or isn't hell enough to go. I think you got a security blanket, and I think that was the right thing to do. I don't have a problem with that. Picked at the Atlanta Falcons mate, So that is where I'm.

At with that.

Hey, how you doing, mister stephen A.

Smith.

Just is Andre the Beast Craton coming to you from Indianapolis and the IMB Studio first allowed me to say that I think you're one of the greatest at what you do by giving, uh, should we say, your perspective on the sports and basically what's going on in the world. My question to you is this, what makes you different? What says you apart from all the others that are in your field, and what is lacking with the individuals in your profession that have the power, that have the media behind them and definitely are influencers, but aren't willing to take the stand the way you're You're the way that that are not willing to take the stands that you have taken in the last couple of years. Once again, my name is Andrea the Beast Creighton.

Thinking Andrea Beast Creighton.

I really really appreciate that question, Thank you so much and addressing me with the seriousness that it deserves. Because first things first, I'm not going to tell you what sets me apart, because that would be me critiquing others in my profession, and I'm not going to do that. I'm gonna leave that the people like yourself and others to do that. I know I work hard, I know I work diligently. I know that I'm mission minded, that there's a higher purpose to anything that I'm saying that comes out of my mouth. I'm not just doing a job. I live this, so that's number one. Number two Again, it's not just a job. And I think what's important to understand is that everybody's got their own flavor. It's not for me to say that I'm the best. When I say things like that. What I mean is I'm number one, meaning ratings and revenue says I'm number one. That's all I mean by that. But best is subjective, so I leave that to other people to decide. But I will tell you that having a reporter's background, caring about facts, caring about being fair minded, I think goes a long way. And then I think the thing that helps me do my job on a high level is that not only do I care about being fair, I think it's important to highlight and illuminate for people out there what obstacles you may encounter. See, we got people today doing podcasts and shows, and they want to talk about doing what you want to do in freedom and being independent and doing what the hell you want to do when you want to do how you want to do it. But they got their handout for somebody else's money, and they're trying to give you the impression that they don't have to capitulate to anything on anybody, that they don't have to answer to anything on anyone. Ever, that's simply not true.

We got people all over YouTube.

For example, acting like they're totally independent, that their sole proprietors or whatever. But how you're getting your money from YouTube. Who runs YouTube? It ain't them. Somewhere along the way. You could sit up there and you could cuss, you could use language, you could do anything, and all of a suddenly YouTube will flag you, and the content that you put out there, or you planned on putting out there, doesn't get out there to the masters because they censored you. Everybody wants to walk around acting like this complete autonomy and that there are people out there who answer to no one. Who are these people? You got one boss that answers to another boss, the answer to another boss, the answer to another boss, the answers the shareholders and stockholders and voters and constituents and all of this other stuff. Nobody is devoid of being answerable to someone else. I understand that. So a lot of times when I'm highlighting stuff, I'm saying, Okay, this is your decision, but understand what comes with it. Understands the obstacles that lie in wait, the mind feels, and the pitfalls that lie in wait. Know what you're facing, what you're embracing. I think that helps me, Whether that sets me apart from everybody else or whatever. That's your all decision to make. But I appreciate the love and I thank you for it. Let's get to the next video, please, Yo, what's up, Stephen Ayer?

This Mike from Atlanta, Georgia, just still stuck on that Trump assassination to tap Hey, with all those cameras out there, man, nobody has a reverse angle that shot. That's all we get is this. Oh that lady in the white shirt back there had had a camera out. What you think, Stephen, A, shouldn't we be able to find the reverse angle shot of that bullet hitting his ear?

What'd you think? I think it's today's day and age, with the advent of technology and whatever. I don't think that's an unreasonable request on your part. The reverse angle that you're talking about here. Maybe maybe not. But you have Secret Service folks, that says he was shot. He clearly says he was shot. We sort of blood trickling down his face, We heard shots fired. An individual was clearly killed by the Secret Service and by snipers and swats to watch folks that was out there. I mean that that that's evidence. You got elected officials on Capitol Hills, swear By. You have that director of the of the Secret Service, who was who was forced to resign. There's a lot of preponderance of evidence out there to confirm what we all believed we saw, which was getting shot. And then when we take into account the climate that exists today, you've got people ready to inflict violence at the drop of a hat. Appears to be a drastically dissipated level of decorum of respect for our fellow man and woman. All Right, you see how kids today are acting towards adults. You and I both know that. Bro, You understand some of the things kids try to get away with today. Please, they wouldn't have even thought about it back in the day. They'd got their ass kicked.

And they know it.

But we live in different times, and when everywhere you turn, you see the advent of violence proliferating and elevating before our very eyes, Unfortunately and sadly, it's not hard to deduce that there was an attempted, legitimate, attempted assassination attempt on the former president of the United States.

I believe it was.

I understand those who want to be skeptical in a moment and you.

Say, ah, looks faked, look this, look that.

But once you collect your senses and you realize the times that we're living in, all the fallout from the incident itself, I think to intimate that it may not have been a legit shooting is immature. I'm not saying you're doing that, because all you're asking is a reverse angle. But I'm just saying it is what it is. Thank god he wasn't killed, because if he were killed, the world would be a different place today, and America would be really really different today. It would be very bad, it really really would. Next video, what you got?

What's up?

It's Casey with Snareville, And I got a quick question for you, Stephen are out of everybody on the male's basketball team, who do you think is taking the last shot shot on the line fate of the universe, who is taking the last shot to save us all appreciate it?

On what team?

Team USA? The last shot?

You know me, I'm not gonna lie to you. I'm gonna say it's Steph Curry or Kevin Durant, assuming he plays. I know Lebron is herculean and can make big things happen. I know Anthony Davis and Joel and Beat and all them brothers can get it done. Devin Booker. Let's not rule him out. Tyreese Halliburton is no scrub. Jason Tatum is a champion. So it's Jrew Holliday, so is Derek White. But if I got to rely on a shot maker, I'm going to shoot one of the most prolific scorers in the history of basketball and the greatest shooter that God ever created. And Kevin Durant and Steph Curry, respectively, those are gonna be my choices. Next video. Please, what's going on?

Stephen Natas Marcus from Vandon Rouge, just calling to ask you about my Hawks, even though yes I am a Hawks fan in Bandon Rouge. Who do you think has more pressure on them this upcoming season? Would it be Tray Young playing with the number one overall pick or the guy that we just traded away and de Jontay Murray's right down the street in New Orleans playing with Zion C. J. McCullum and possibly Brandon Ingramo on the same team. Who do you think has more pressure on them?

That's the easiest question I've received all day. Uh, it's clearly Trey Young.

Uh.

First of all, ain't nobody thinking about de John Tay Murray. It's not that he's a scrub, because he's not. He can ball, okay, and we understand that. But the reality is when you look at the John Tay Murray and you see that he's in New Orleans, you ain't thinking about nobody Bzion Williamson. The New Orleans Pelicans goes where Zion takes them. And the fact that he got hurt after having a monster game against Lebron James. The game he got hurt goes a long way because you're imagining and fantasizing. If we see that Zion Williamson, Oh, look the hell out, New Orleans could be a big time threat. Anybody thinking about the Atlanta Hawks. Nate mc miller should have never been fired. Respect Quinn Snyder, but I don't think he was the right man for that job. And Trey Young has proven to be a volume shooter, not nearly as effective and efficient as we all thought he could be. He has moments of the spectacular. He can drop fifty on you in a heartbeat. He can shoot long range, you can get to the hole. He's cat quick, he's.

Very, very skilled.

He belongs in the NBA. But when he got to the Conference Finals. We thought this brother was onto something when he got to the conference finals and only Giannis anthetogup point the.

Milwaukee Bucks derailed him.

We thought special times were had from this brother who elevated in the spotlight and Dan over the last couple of years. What have we seen. I mean, there's an apb out for them brothers in Atlanta, so there's clearly more pressure on him. It was talk of trading him. John Ty Murray can ball, but he wasn't considered Trey Young caliber. And he's in New Orleans. It's all about Zion and Atlanta's all about Trey as in, what you're gonna do? Could you please step up your game? I believe in Trey Young. I know the brother's not a scrub, but he's got to be more efficient for the Atlanta Hawks to be more relevant. It's just that simple. That's it for this special edition of The Stephen A. Smith Show. I thank you for joining me. Okay, I know I'm on vacation, but I still want to leave you with a little son to think about. I hope you will pleased with the tweets, with the calls, with the videos.
