In light of recent criticism coming out of state about California’s Downtown areas, Assembly member Matt Haney has taken action, forming a special committee composed of lawmakers, aimed at revitalizing these vital areas.

With concerns ranging from homelessness and vacant storefronts, to the impact of remote work and a lack of housing supply, Haney's initiative seeks to tackle these challenges head-on by exploring strategies such as incentivizing in-person work, converting vacant office spaces into housing, and fostering vibrant cultural scenes.

The committee aims to breathe new life into downtown areas, and for a closer look, KCBS Radio's Patti Reising and Bret Burkhart were joined on the KCBS Ring Central Newsline by Assembly member Matt Haney.
