Analyzing the Lions' First Games of the Season & State of the NFC North

View descriptionShare

The Detroit Lions looked stellar on the road against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, September 22, and came out with a 20-13 victory. The week prior, the Lions fell in a surprise loss to the Buccaneers, so seeing the Lions back on their A-game in Arizona was certainly cause for celebration.

Now, the Detroit Lions are hosting the Seattle Seahawks on Monday, September 30, for Monday Night Football. While the Seahawks are underdogs going into this matchup, the team is 3-0 for their season, while the Lions are 2-1. Plus, there's something about the Hawks that's helped them pull off consecutive wins over the Lions, no matter who's the better team. So, will the Lions be able to pull off one of their first victories over the Seattle Seahawks in years?

Dating back to the 2003 season, the Seahawks have won nine of their last 10 games against the Detroit Lions. They've also won their last six games. So, it'll be a tall order. Even if the Lions are a better team, it doesn't seem to matter when they're up against the Hawks. I think this one could go either way, but if I had to make a prediction, I'd say the Lions will take it, 21-17. I don't see this as being a very high scoring game, because both teams have solid defenses.

Jeremy Reisman of Pride of Detroit joins Anne Erickson on "The Squad" today to talk about the Cardinals win, the Seahawks matchup and much more.
