Peter Gleeson is an Australian community music facilitator, overtone singer, and choir leader, best known for founding and running the Spontaneous Choir. Alongside his work with large participatory choirs, Peter is an accomplished overtone singer, exploring the rich harmonic possibilities of the human voice. It really has been a pleasure hosting The Spotlight over the last two seasons, shining a light on people from the creative industries, from artists, producers and performers, to managers, curators, entrepreneurs, visionaries, and everything in between.

It’s been an honour to give these people a platform to share their stories, insights, and experiences whilst gaining some valuable knowledge in return.

This show has been a huge learning curve for me, I’ve developed so many skills and learnt so much, not just from my guests, but from the incredible team here at SYN as well.

I want to give a special shoutout to Jane Gazzo. After doing air checks with her, I’ve grown massively as a radio host. I’ve really learnt a lot from her, and she's an absolute legend. We're all incredibly lucky to have her here at SYN.

As much as I love hosting The Spotlight, the time has come for me to park the show for now to make room for other creative projects. While this chapter is coming to a close, this isn’t goodbye to SYN at all. I’m currently one of the Executive Producers of SYN’s Australian music show, The Hoist.
As part of the role, I’ll be managing things from behind the scenes rather than from behind the mic, but you might still hear me on the airwaves from time to time.
