Once a year we do something strange. We take the things that scare us most, ghosts and skeletons and darkness and death, and instead of hiding from them, we put them on. We walk around in the dark wearing them and we knock on doors and laugh.

That is not an accident. It is one of the oldest instincts we have. At the darkest turn of the year, you face the thing you fear, you give it a shape, and you take its power back.

This year Halloween lands in the middle of Scorpio season, with Mercury retrograde in Scorpio and a waning Moon. The sky is doing the exact same thing the holiday does. It is asking you to look at what you hide.

Because the veil is not only thin between worlds. There is a veil inside you too, the line between what you let yourself see and what you pushed out of view. The feelings you decided were too much. The desires you decided were not appropriate. You did not destroy those parts. You put them behind the veil. And Scorpio season is when that veil gets thin.

Here is what almost nobody tells you about the shadow. Your shadow holds whatever you could not afford to be, and very often what you could not afford to be was powerful. If anger was dangerous in your home, you buried your anger, and with it your ability to say no. If ambition made you seem selfish, you buried your drive. If sensitivity made you a target, you buried your intuition. The part you hid to stay safe is so often the exact part you need to create the life you want.

I walk you through what the veil actually is, where Samhain comes from, what your shadow is really holding, what happens when you suppress a feeling versus name one, the sky this week, what you inherited that was never yours to carry, and the releasing ritual I have been promising you for weeks. Release the fear. Keep the power.

The veil inside you, and the line between what you let yourself see and what you pushed out of view
Why Scorpio season is when that veil gets thin
What you inherited: the beliefs and habits handed to you before you could choose them
Honoring your ancestors, and giving back what was never yours
The three part releasing ritual: honor, name, release
The page you keep, and why you write the power down before you let the fear go

Journaling Prompts:
What feeling have I been hiding, and what is its exact name?
What quality did I hide to stay safe, and what power was it protecting?
Who annoys me most right now, and what quality in them was I told I was not allowed to be?
What am I carrying that was handed to me before I could choose it?
What is the cost of holding this down, and where do I feel it in my body?
If I released the fear and kept the power this weekend, what would I do differently on Monday?

Welcome to The Spirit Daughter Podcast, where we explore the cosmic energy of each season through expert conversations and dive deep into celebrity birth charts to help you understand your own astrological design. I'm Jill Wintersteen, and twice weekly, I'm bringing you powerful conversations that align with current cosmic weather alongside intimate chart readings that reveal how the stars shape extraordinary lives.

Every month brings a perfect mix. Through intimate chart reading with fascinating guests, you'll discover how these successful people work with their cosmic energy to create extraordinary lives. As I read their charts, you'll recognize pieces of yourself in their stories. Their Venus placement might mirror yours. Their rising sign challenges might sound exactly like your morning routine. Every celebrity chart becomes a mirror for understanding your own.

I’ll also feature interviews with experts based on the current astrological season. During Virgo Season, we’ll explore finding your worth through healing and rituals. When Capricorn Season arrives, we’ll discuss building empires while maintaining life balance. These expert episodes are timed to each Sun Season's themes, giving you real tools to work with the current cosmic energy.

Each week brings you two powerful episodes. Our full-length shows feature either revealing chart readings or expert conversations perfectly timed to the season's opportunities. Every conversation will show you how to work with current cosmic weather to create real results in your life.

Plus, our weekly mini-episodes break down specific pieces of the natal chart. What does Mercury in your chart reveal about your communication style? How does your moon sign unlock emotional freedom? These quick cosmic downloads give you the knowledge to read your own chart like a pro.

Here's what makes this irresistible: while I'm reading a celebrity's chart or exploring seasonal themes with experts, you're learning to apply these insights to your own life. Every placement we discuss, every aspect we explore, every transit we navigate together becomes a lesson you can use immediately. It's like getting a personal astrology education through the stories of people you admire and wisdom from experts who've mastered these cosmic cycles.

Whether you're new to astrology or ready to go deeper, this show teaches you to speak the language of the stars through expert wisdom and the charts of fascinating people.
