Need something to watch this weekend? Laura and Mon have two very different recommendations — one that will make you question everything your algorithm is feeding you, and another that may permanently change how you feel about dark bodies of water.

First, Aaron Sorkin is returning to the world of The Social Network with The Social Reckoning, starring Mikey Madison, Jeremy Allen White and an intensely committed Jeremy Strong. Based on the true story of Facebook whistleblower Frances Haugen, it’s a smart, unsettling look at what was happening inside the company as its algorithms began pushing users towards increasingly extreme content.

Then, Josh Hartnett is back in Below, a wildly atmospheric new Netflix series about a remote island community being terrorised by something enormous lurking beneath the water. There’s family drama, a surprisingly educational amount of ice harvesting and a genuinely horrifying sea monster — which, naturally, means Laura absolutely loved it.

Plus, The Kardashians are back for season eight, so Laura delivers a very important PSA about what she does — and absolutely does not — want from the new season.
