Verity is one of the biggest movies in the world right now, and as you’d expect from a blockbuster Colleen Hoover adaptation starring Anne Hathaway and Dakota Johnson, there is a lot to talk about.

Laura and Em are giving you their completely unfiltered review of the movie — from the performances they couldn’t look away from and the twists that genuinely shocked them, to the darker moments Laura found particularly confronting. They unpack what worked, what absolutely didn’t, the choices they’re still trying to make sense of and whether the movie ultimately lives up to all that hype.

And Em has come armed with receipts. Having read the original novel, she takes Laura through some of the biggest differences between the book and the movie, including the scenes and storylines she was stunned to see disappear, the changes that completely surprised her and whether Hollywood’s version of Verity actually improves on Colleen Hoover’s original story.
