Franklin and Marshall College have announced a major initiative designed to make the Lancaster-based private school more affordable. Under the program known as Commonwealth Commitment, tuition will be free for students whose families earn 75 thousand dollars a year or less. For families with an income of between 75 and 150 thousand dollars a year, tuition will be the same as Penn State charges its in-state students.
