Deeca says the burn aimed to develop fuel-reduced areas of sufficient width and continuity to reduce the speed and intensity of bushfires.
========================================220,000 dollars in grants from the state government has been awarded to 27 groups across Victoria including the Barwon South west region courtesy of the Coastcare Victoria Community Grants Program.

CFA crews were called to East and West Road around 2.20pm, where a fire measuring 50 by 50 metres had spread near a tree plantation.

In the E Grade, Colac's Jack Barclay finished second.

In D Grade, Colac's Mark Oppenheim tookout the win, with Colac's Josh Thompson third.

AND In C Grade Andrew Cox finished third.

The next Quad Series race is this Sunday at Footscray.

Tom Davis led the way with two goals.
