The Barwon River rises in the Otway Ranges and flows through or near the townships of Forrest, Birregurra, Winchelsea, and Inverleigh, before flowing through Geelong and emptying into the ocean at Barwon Heads.

Residents can get involved through Landcare groups, citizen science, or by adopting sustainable farming and weed control practices.
