The tree will be mulched and replaced with the same species, with the mulch repurposed locally to support weed suppression and soil health. An exclusion zone will be in place during the work, and the community is advised to avoid the area.

Authorities have blocked access to the beach as technical assessments are carried out to evaluate the risk of future rockfalls or landslides.
