This episode is a must-listen for anyone interested in transportation and the future of rail travel in the United States. The speaker takes a critical look at the proposed Colorado commuter rail project, dubbed "Cuckoo for CoCo," and compares it to similar projects in other states. With a healthy dose of skepticism and a keen eye for detail, the speaker examines the financial realities and ridership numbers of various rail projects across the country.

The episode delves into the history of rail travel in the American West, highlighting the successes and failures of projects like the Union Pacific Railroad and the California bullet train. The speaker also draws parallels between the proposed Colorado project and other rail initiatives, such as the Utah Transit Authority's FrontRunner and the North Star commuter line in Minnesota. These comparisons reveal some striking similarities and differences that are worth considering.

One of the key takeaways from this episode is the importance of ridership numbers and financial sustainability in determining the success of a rail project. This raises questions about the long-term viability of the proposed Colorado project and whether it will follow in the footsteps of other failed rail initiatives.

If you're interested in learning more about the proposed Colorado commuter rail project and the lessons that can be learned from other rail projects across the country, tune in to this episode to hear the speaker's insightful analysis and commentary.
