In a thought-provoking episode, the speaker shares their observations on the recent midterm elections and the implications of the results. They begin by reflecting on a personal experience at a gas pump, where they realized that the cost of living is a pressing issue for many Americans. The speaker takes a critical look at the proposed Colorado commuter rail project, dubbed "Cuckoo for CoCo," and compares it to similar projects in other states. With a healthy dose of skepticism and a keen eye for detail, the speaker examines the financial realities and ridership numbers of various rail projects across the country.

The episode delves into the history of rail travel in the American West, highlighting the successes and failures of projects like the Union Pacific Railroad and the California bullet train.
