Israel is unleashing intense new air strikes on Gaza as Israel also expands its ground operations there was well. Phone lines and other communications have been largely cut off with civilians caught in the crossfire. The United States says it is in talks with Israel about a humanitarian pause to try to allow the potential release of more hostages held by Hamas. Plus, divers join the search for the mass shooter in Maine. Sources tell CNN the gun apparently used in the rampage was bought just days before the suspect had a mental health episode.
