The city of Surrey is making it illegal to sleep in RVs or campers overnight. City council voted 5-4 to enact the bylaw amendment last night. Councillor Brenda Locke voted against -- she calls it "challenging" to people in Surrey who are just trying to get by, and has no idea as to why this bylaw was recommended in the first place…

Councilor Locke also called the language in the amendment “offensive.”

Locke also said that Safe Surrey city council members made no mention about where the people sleeping in RV’s will go…

Allison Patton is a Surrey city councillor representing the Safe Surrey Coalition, and she voted in favour of bylaw.
