This week marks Brain Awareness Week March in British Columbia, and to celebrate the advancements in neuroscience and technology, the Health and Technology District in Surrey is hosting a series of brain awareness days. What many people don’t know is that Surrey is a burgeoning region for neuroscience and innovations with several world renowned neuroscientists and clinicians doing some pretty important research.

Dr. Ryan D’Arcy, head of Health Sciences and Innovation at SMH and BC Leadership Chair in Multimodal Technology for Healthcare Innovations at SFU. He’s the neuroscientist leading the team at the soon to be open ImageTech Lab at SMH where they will have a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) device and a MISL CTF magnetoencephalography (MEG) machine. He joins us today to discuss the innovation in neuroscience occuring in Surrey.
