Resident Killer Whales aren't eating enough

An environmental activist organization is claiming to have deflated tires of 34 SUVs across Victoria and Oak Bay. The new ‘Tyre Extinguishers of Victoria’ have posted online they are part of a worldwide direct action with the goal of eliminating SUVs from urban areas. Victoria Police Department has opened a file on the environmental action and so far one person in the city has filed a police complaint.

Just one day after its highly anticipated reopening, as a heat wave continues to scorch the city – a popular Vancouver pool is being closed early due to a staff shortage.

Lifeguard shortage affecting Vancouver public pools

A police officer was allegedly attacked which led to shots being fired on Saturday morning, says the Vancouver Police Department. According to police, the assault occurred while the officer was on a routine patrol in downtown Vancouver. The VPD says the suspect also remains in custody for assaulting the officer. The Independent Investigations Office of BC is conducting an investigation, as well as the VPD’s major crime section.
