Meet Ted Budd - September 14th, Hour 3

Published Sep 14, 2022, 10:35 PM

Senate Candidate Rep. Ted Budd of North Carolina is here to discuss his race in NC and why he and other Republicans need to take back the Senates and put the adults back in charge. With inflation killing the American people and their livelihoods, with household net worth dropping by a record $6T this last quarter, Biden is having a party at the White House with James Taylor; truly unbelievable.

All right, news, round up information, overload our eight hundred nine for one sean if you want to be a part of the program. We keep telling you all of these bell weather states that could be very close, and it could depend on your voting in these states to determine whether Republicans can take control of the US Senate. I think it'll be easier in the House. Well, you've got Marco Rubio in Florida. We've got herschel Walker in Georgia. We got Ted Budd, who's going to join us in a minute. In North Carolina. Of course, we have Tim Scott in South Carolina. We've got doctor ros in Pennsylvania. We got JD. Vans at Ohio. We got Ron Johnson in Wisconsin. We got Eric Schmidt running in Missouri. We've got Laxalt in the great state of Nevada. We got Masters in Arizona. And then you can look at Colorado, New Hampshire where they just picked their candidate yesterday, and Washington State. All of them are bell weather states. It's gonna be about turnout. Here's the latest ad from North Carolina and Senate Republican candidate Ted Budd. This rally will never happen. Joe Biden won't come here. He's too busy making life harder for you. His bad decisions have led to a recession, and that's nothing to cheer about. I'm Ted Budd, and I'm running to make life better for North Carolina families. More American energy, not more border patrol, not I our s agents, and less spinning to get prices down, because those are things we can all rally behind. I'm Ted Budd, and I approve this message all right. Senate candidate for the Republicans and the great State of North Carolina. Ted Budd is with us. Polling has been good for you of late. Your up latest pole I see between three and four points, But I'm not taking anything for granted in the state of North Carolina. John, You're a great American. Thanks for having me on. Look, we can't sit back and watch a red wave. We got to get out there and make the wave happen. That's not just you, that's not just me and these other that every single person in the sound or your voice, every single GOP and even undecided voters. That's only around five to eleven percent in North Carolina. So we need everyone to turn out because everything that I'm doing, like it was in that commercial that you just played, I'm running to make life better for North Carolinians and for this country, and everything that Joe Biden touches, everything that Sherry Beasley touches, makes things worse for North Carolinians. If there's a clear distinction, she's running away from Joe Biden, she's running away from his policies, but she would support everything that Joe Biden does, and that makes things worse for everyone in our country and in North Carolina. It really is scary. Let's talk about your opponent, and let's talk about spending, because it's a phenomenon going on in Florida. It's happening in Georgia, it's happening in Ohio, it's happening in Pennsylvania, it's happening in Wisconsin. And that is all these negative ads. They're spending tens of millions of dollars on every Republican senatorial candidate. I mean, in some cases they've spent up to sixty million dollars in negative ads on Republicans. Is that happening in North Carolina? We see that, but we never say that we have to have more. We just have to have enough. Look, you know, all I do is I run towards my record. She's running away from her record. She's running away from those that are supporting her, like Joe Biden, like Kamala Harris, not even showing up to when they come into the state. But by the way, that's happening everywhere. He wouldn't show up, a Feederman wouldn't show up the candidate, and Wisconsin wouldn't show up. No Democrat wants to be seen with this guy. But we know that everything that my opponent stands for, Sherry Beasley is a complete rubber stamp for Joe Biden. She's failed to differentiate herself. North Carolinians are waking up to that fact. Look, Poling might be slightly ahead, it might be three points ahead, but it's three points margin of era. It is neck and neck. And again, this is the NASCAR state here in North Carolina. You don't win by lifting in the corners. You don't win by letting off the gas. And we're not going to do that. We're in a run through the tape. We are exactly fifty five days out. We're gonna ask, We're gonna humbly ask, We're going to stay focused and we're going to ask for people's support, and Sean, we are running hard in all one hundred counties. I have visited all one hundred counties, whether it's urban, whether it's rural, or somewhere in between. I am running to make their life better, and I've got a record of doing so. You know, this is an interesting phenomenon too, as your opponent agreed to debating you, and when does early voting start. What I don't like is in a lot of states, voting will have been going on for weeks, if not a month, before they have even their first debate, like in Pennsylvania and Georgia, for example. We are trying to schedule a debate. We've reached out. We said, hey, because the issues are on my side, we want to run towards the debate. We want to bring these issues to surface. They've been very difficult to schedule. They've bounced around and saying, oh, well they you know one of the news outlifts in our states that how about October fifth? We said, how about that? Then they came up with an excuse and said I couldn't. We said, well, you know, if it's a holiday, well, we'll do it after sundown, no problem. And you know we're still yet to hear from them, so we're all for it. And again, but the issues are on my side. Look, I want people in your audience to look at my race to see how tight it is and to go to my website. Tedbud dot com is ted budd dot com. We need everyone's support. This is a critical race. The most dangerous thing is for people to sit back, expect to win and not help make the win happen. So we need their support. You know, it really is such an important race, and we are strongly supporting your candidacy. We're wishing you all the best. If there's anything we can do, let us know. And again, how do people get in touch with you if they want to learn about your platform? Sean, just you having me on as a huge health Thanks for your support and for your kind word. It's tedbud dot com ted budd dot com. Please go to my website check it out. They know I'm a small businessperson. I live on the same family farm where I grew up. My grandfather said, just do what you say you're going to do, and that's what I'm going to do. When I'm in the US Senate. It's what I've done now in the US House. All right, Ted Budd running in North Carolina Senate candidate for the Republicans, a must win state. It's a whole state for Republicans. This is an important race. I hope people in North Carolina are taking it seriously and see what's going on. Thank you, Ted Budd. We'll talk to you before the before election day, I'm sure numerous times. Thanks for being with us, God bless Thanks Sehn. All right, let's get back to our phones. We have George and Florida, the Free State of Florida. What's up, George, how are you? Hey? Son, Thanks for taking my call and allow me to share my perspective. When Donald Trump came down the escalator in twenty fifteen, there was this full fledge alternative to the mainstream media. Back then, we had uncensored social media, we had Rushed Lumbaugh on the scene, we had conservative websites. We had this full fledge alternative media that's crushed the monopoly of the mainstream media's interpretation of the news. So my question to you is, do you think it's full fledged alternative to the news has gotten stronger or weaker over the last four or five years. I didn't fully get the last part of your question. Ask it again. I'm sorry. Did this has this full fledge alternative to the mainstream media's news monopoly. Has it gotten stronger or weaker over the last four or five years. I think it remains the same, and that is that the Democratic Party has pretty much wrapped up there. They're basically an extension of their press offices ninety plus percent of media. You have three broadcast networks, you have all these cable news networks but for Fox, and then you have the newspapers in this country slant solidly left, with a few exceptions like the New York Post. There are very few conservative papers now in the country, nor are they having an impact, so the media advantage goes to them. Now think of the impact. For example, in twenty sixteen, the medium mob ran hog wild with Hillary Clinton's bought and paid for dirty Russian misinformation dossier as if it was gospel truth. You know, Donald Trump in the Ritz, Carlton in Moscow with Hooker's urinating in his bed. You know how many times do we hear that story that turned out to be totally debunked false, just like the rest of the dossier. And then in twenty sixteen, in one voice in Unison, you had the Medium mob and you had the Democratic Party hunter Biden's laptop. Is it looks like Russian disinformation? Don't believe it. It's not real. Three weeks before an election, and Poles have shown that that would have had an impact strong enough to change the election results. That's what polls have showed. So it is very frustrating. And I have no doubt in my mind, in my heart that they'll pull whatever they need to pull in terms of Shenanigan's October surprises, to get their power and hold onto their power. This is all about power for them. And if you think they're extreme, now, if they had control of the House and a larger majority in the Senate, all these dreams of court packing, ending the legislative philibuster, all their dreams of you know, total complete power control would be theirs. They'll take it, and you know, DC statehood not far behind. And then the hope is obviously to stay in power for as long as possible. I hope that answers your question. All right, quick break right back to our phones. The eight hundred and nine for one, Shawn our number as we roll along, and your calls for the final half hour of the program coming up as well. We have a special website. It's genuicell dot com slash sean. Go there now genuicel dot com slash shan and every almost every popular package is automatically upgraded or free shipping geniu sell dot com slash shan from our friends at SHAMOONI got back to our busy phones Sully in Boston. What's up, Sully? How are you? I just want to get to my point. I'm fifty five. I'm Irish. We wouldn't be gumbas because that's what's that's what Italian people call their friends. They call them gumbas. I don't know what Irish people call their friends. Um but um. I'm fifty five, I'm conservative. I never voted in my twenties. I would have voted for Reagan, but I was too stupid and out drinking and having a good time. When I was younger and I wasn't following politics, I didn't I didn't vote for Obama. I definitely didn't vote for Bush. I wouldn't have voted for Romney or well became. But I voted for Trump twice. And I think you always had the point that, you know, the president is just a figurehead. Well, Trump was more than a figurehead. He just wasn't a stump like Bidens. Trump was a force of nature. Trump was just, you know, a force of nature. You don't see that often in a politician. And maybe his blessing was his curse. He was such a force of nature, such a fighter, which benefited we, the American people, when we got better trade deals with China and Japan and Canada and Mexico and Europe. I mean, we made Europe pay their fair share. It was a force of nature to to reallocate resources to build the wall, a force of nature to get rid of the bureaucracy, a force of nature to lower taxes, a force of nature to get energy independence, a force of nature to stick with his Supreme Court choices when others would have bailed m Guy was a fighter and some people didn't like that part of them. Well, they're stupid. I shouldn't say that they're stupid, they just misinformed. And if I can get through to two, two or three people a day, Like I talked to people at my job and they were like, I vote to Subiden, I'm like, why did you vote to Biden? They're like, because you know this, that and the other thing. The media said that that, And they talked to me and they realized that Biden's a hack and Trump was a good president. If you can get through those people, a couple of those people a day, we could have a red wave when we have the next president, which would be great. Listen, I agree this could be a red wave, but I'm telling everybody in this audience take nothing for granted. It is not a slam dunk until the votes are counted. And if you want change, if you want to stop this radicalism, we can do it. We can win these elections, every one of these races, every Bell weathers. We could have an incredible celebratory night where all of these Senate candidates win. It's possible, but I'm not. I'm just but I don't have a crystal ball. I just have I think I have a healthy fear of losing, and that is that you play like a ten points down. That's the only way to to work through a political battle like this, And you have to fight for every single vote. And you got to deal with the hand you dealt, not the hand you wish you were dealt. If you're getting hammered with negative ads, you gotta counter, you gotta fight back. If in fact the system allows for early voting, mail and voting, you got to embrace it. At this point. You can't fight it because that's the hand you dealt. You wish you got four races, you didn't get four races, Okay, deal with what you have and then make your decisions from there. But I think it's all winnable. I think Republicans going on offense. Look, every Republican I did this with New Gingrich's last night on TV. They've they've got to learn the art of pivoting. All that the medium mob. All their Democratic candidates are gonna want to talk about as abortion January sixth, then Donald Trump and of course your racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic and you want dirty air and water. That's their playbook. They can't run on any success that they've had because they haven't had any. They can't run on the economy, they can't run on foreign policy, they can't run on energy, they can't run on the borders. So what are they gonna do. They're stuck with, you know, Donald Trump, January sixth abortion, and they'll demogogue that, they'll lie about that. So Republicans have got to stay on message. That's why the Commitments to America, which Kevin McCarthy will roll out and I guess about ten days or so from now, maybe nine days. I think it is so vitally important to keep the focus where it needs to be, and that's on substance. If this election is about law and order, about better schools for our kids, lower taxes, about energy and dependence and energy dominance, secure borders, will win. If it's about January sixth, we're not gonna win. That's where that's all they've got. And if we understand their playbook and don't play into it, we'll have a much better chance of winning. Our odds will go up dramatically. Anyway, I hope that answers your question. Good call. Eight hundred and nine four one, Shawn if you want to be a part of the program, quick break right back your calls on the other side, straight ahead, all right, twenty five to the top of the hour, eight hundred and nine four one sewn, if you want to be a part of the program. Fifty five days till the all important mid term elections. There's a very strange exchange with the what is his name, John Kirby, Press Secretary. But I believe what the Defense Department. I think of the Defense Department anyway. China is buying up land near US military basis. Is this on the administration's radar, given the fact that known adversary in the case China, foreign buyers are buying up US real estate and some case farms around military installations. Is this on the administration's radar? And what is being done, perhaps to study this, or to protect Americans from making sure that homes remain affordable and so on. I think the question of homeownership is a little bit out of my swim wane, but particularly when it comes to around military installations. What I will tell you is that the President has been nothing but clear about our concerns about Chinese unfair trade practices and economic practices. Pray, I understand that, but buying up land around military stall I'm probably not the right person to ask about homeownership here in the United States. About owners this is about buying up land around military as a relations is not a concern to this administration. To your office last week? How a week to look at this, including the article you can get at you afterwards? Minium a month? What kind of answer is that? That's scary? He says, I'm not the one to talk to you about home ownership, and she literally, very respectfully, i might add, says to him, you are the national security coordinator for the White House in the United States of America. This is a national security issue where a communist nation is buying up land around military installations in the United States. Whose job is it? Whose job is it? Then Kirby and then they have the press person movie, I will answer you later. She's like, I submitted the question a week ago, which then gives us a little bit of purview into how long they have to review the questions and how they're going to answer them. So that means they got it, They looked at it, They hope she wouldn't ask it. They figured they brush it off into her credit, she kept in moving and kept asking the question, and still he didn't answer it. It's really it's very frightening. Well it's it's to me, it's really frightening anyway, kind of kind of strange times. We're living in uh and that's really scary for national security reasons. Joel is in Ohio. I hope you're voting for J. D. Vans in the Buckeye State. What's going on? Hey, Sean, how are you? I'm good, how are you? Hey? Thanks for the opportunity to talk to you today. UM, I just wanted I know how important the upcoming elections are in a couple of months here, but I'm looking at twenty twenty four and just wanted your opinion on a on what the relationship is between Trump and DeSantis. And then I got a comment after after you say it. I think I think this has been blown up by the media. UM. I know Governor DeSantis, he was on the program last week and he is very focused not only on his own race. To his credit, he's going around the country and he's campaigning for other candidates and raising a lot of money for a lot of people. I mean, and President Trump is doing the same we just had Ted button. He's gonna be campaigning for Ted. But I believe on the twenty third of October, I think both people have focused on getting this country back on track. I know there's I've I even went I've interviewed both of them and asked them both and they said, it's total crap. It's bs, That's what they've said. So and right now, we're not talking about twenty twenty four. Twenty twenty four will take care of itself the day after election day. Trust me, there's gonna be a lot of talk about twenty twenty four on the Democratic side and the Republican side. So I feel like they're on the same on the same page on a lot of the issues. I just I just feel like, why don't we join forces now? And then they are they are joined forces that they're fighting for every candidate around the country. And so I mean, do you want him to go out on the road together? I mean why not? I mean why not? Why not change the way we play the game a little bit? And I mean because this could potentially put these two guys in office for the next twelve to sixteen years if all goes the way we would like it too. I don't. I don't think Donald Trump has sixteen years in him. I think he definitely has. I'm sure I'm not saying Donald Trump, I'm but I think more years of Donald Trump and than eight years of Santis. There is no doubt at all that one clear uh leader in the Republican Party is Governor Ronda Santis, and he's done a phenomenal job in the state of Florida. I know that President Trump really fought hard for him four years ago and it paid off. He won a very close election, as did Senator Rick Scott, and to my understanding, they've had a good relations ever ever since. I was I'm not a person that hangs out at Marlago, but I was down there doing an interview and I saw Rhonda Santis and his wife sitting down eating dinner there. Sure. Yeah, So I just want to throw one more thing out there, and I just feel like the relationship, but the dynamic between in the relationship between the president and the vice president needs to needs to change a bit, and maybe if they were to start working together now, it would be a team up now for a twenty twenty four candidacy. I don't know if I don't know if that would be the right play. And I'll tell you why I think that. I think that Governor de Santis is if you want to run for president, it pretty much starts in January of next year. That process begins that early. And now you can delay it for a certain amount of time. But if you want to get the right consultants, you want to get the right money people behind you, you got to get in pretty early. So we'll see who gets in. I don't think it's a slam dunk that Donald Trump is running either. I think it's likely, but I don't think it's a slam dunk. Um. He's given every indication he intends to um, but he's also put out caveats. It also depends on my health and how I feel and and whether or not I want to do this again. That's a big decision, especially in his case. I mean, you want to live through the hell that they put him through for what six years now? I wouldn't want to live that life, right. Yeah. I'm also thinking that that Desantist votes if if they were to do a Trump de Santist ticket, people who would vote for Desantist but be on the on the edge on whether or not they would vote for Trump. That would pull votes to Trump and Dust and I would like to see Ron win his race as governor. He's done a phenomenal job in the Free State of Florida. He absolutely is a top Republican presidential candidate in the future. There's zero doubt about that. And I happen to like him a lot personally, and I think he would do a phenomenal job, and I think I think that's probably his destiny. I think one day, hopefully we'll have a president of Santas And on the other I don't think there's any doubt about it. I agree with you and im, and I'm not diminishing other candidates out there as well. I mean there we have a very very strong bench. I can guarantee you Glenn Yngcan wants to be president one day. Um. I've never met a governor or a senator that never wanted to be a president or didn't think about the possibility of being president and believing that they could be one. And it's it's the nature of the business. I guess you want on promotion all the time, but you know, every politician regard us of what your position happens to be the most important thing you can do that would be in your best political interest is inspire people with an agenda that works conservative and keep your promises and fight hard for the things that you said you would fight hard for. And if you keep your word, people will respect you whether they agree or disagree, and people will reward you for fighting and doing what you said you were going to do. There's too many people that will say all the right things when they're running for office, and then they get there and they don't do any of it. We don't need that kind of republican anymore. We need somebody who's going to fight for we the people, somebody who has a course set of values and principles. I say it all the time, it's not hard to be a conservative. Liberty, freedom, capitalism, our constitution, limited government, lower taxes, less bureaucracy. We believe in law. We believe even order so people are safe and people are secure. We believe in educational choice for our kids. We believe in telemedicine, healthcare cooperatives like doctor Josh Umber, and healthcare savings accounts as alternatives to Obamacare. We believe in secure borders, not only do. We believe in energy and dependence. I want America to be the most energy dominant country on the face of this earth. We believe in constitutionalists on the bench. We believe in free and fair trade. We believe in peace through strength. We believe in the First and Second Amendment. We respect the right to life. Certain things like that basic fundamental conservatism. It's not complicated. Every single person running for office as a Republican should be able to recite what I just said to you. Unfortunately, some of them can't, and I don't know why. It's not that it's not that hard. They've got to get better at communicating. That's why the contract or commitments to America that there Republicans will sign is so important this year. Put your promises down on paper so we can hold you accountable. Tired of Republicans getting into office with all these you know, promises and then never keeping them. If Republicans want to get elected, they've got to fight and keep their promises, you know, republic don't ever underestimate Republicans ability to go swampy on you as well. There's a lot of those people. Anyway, I appreciate the call. Thanks for checking in. Linda in Pennsylvania. We got another lender in Pennsylvania. We have our Linda in Pennsylvania. Now another lender in Pennsylvania. What's up, Linda. Hi, Sean, It's very very nice to talk to you. I am an urn. I've been an ran for many, many years, too many sometimes, I think. But by the way, that's such a noble profession. And what most people don't know is nurses do most of the real hard work. The doctors don't do the hard work. The nurses do far more than people know. And thank you for what you do. Thank you very much. Anyway, I was in labor and delivery for about twenty years and my goal at the time was to get the abortions out of my labor and delivery room. We did first trimester and second trimester, and one of the most harrowing things. I had a discussion the other day with somebody who said, it was my body, my choice. You know the vetterman up to You know that Vetterman's no restrictions, just like you know, decriminalizing heroin, just like safe shooting zones for drugs. Right. Well, I had a patient who was only in the second trimester and when the baby was born. The baby was born alive. And I remember saying to him this discussion the other day, I said, you know, when the baby cried and it wasn't a where I went, it was no you know, very meet christ The patient said to me, what is that? What is that noise? And I said, well, that's your baby and it was born a lie. And I can't tell you this. She said, I really didn't know it was a baby, but you know, I have to be professional and I can't say, well, what did you think it was? But I thought, what do you think it was? And hopefully that discussion the other day, showing that these these are babies and this is only a second trimester maybe a pound pound and a half baby, that maybe it changed his mind and maybe because of it, he's going to have that discussion with other people, because these are babies. You're describing is so barbaric. It's such a heart wrenching story. You know, Look, I understand I have friends that say they approacho, but even the friends that say their pro choice, they kind of agreed with Clinton's statement. Legal but rare, and I'd add another word early about fifty five percent of abortions now take place with a pill. But you know the idea that you have all these Democrats, including that that idiot and a hoodie that you know, literally he had never had a job in his life. Turns out he had eight houses. Oh he's making fun of doctor holes. I'd like to know how he paid for them, considering he never had a real job in his life. But anyway, that's a sad story, and that's the Democratic Party today. They don't want limitations at all. An abortion up to an hour before I'm due to give birth in an hour. You know what, I think I changed my mind. I think I'm gonna have an abortion that's called in fantaside. You know, that's what this what was like. They ignorth them. That idiot in Virginia will first we'll let the baby be born, and then we'll make baby comfortable, and then the doctor and the mother will make a decision, Like what do you mean make a decision. There's a babysitting in there. You take care of the baby anyway. I'm sorry you live through that, And thank you for all the great work you do as a nurse. I know how hard your job is.
