Victoria's egg industry is asking for clarity on fast tracked changes to new poultry welfare standards. 

The changes will come into effect later this year and require all new chicken cages to be installed with nest areas, perches and a scratch area. 

It's part of broader reforms to ban conventional cages by 2036.
