Queensland and Western Australia farmers are felling optimistic heading into the final weeks of the year. 

The latest Rabobank survey shows on a national basis, farmers are becoming cautious about the economic outlook for agriculture. 

Rural Editor Emily Minney spoke with Country Banking Group Executive Marcel Van Doremaele about the survey.

Mixed farmer sentiments heading into the new year

The Prime Minister is being urged to visit Macquarie Harbour, and make a decision on the future of Tasmania's Salmon fishing industry. 

Farmers have been left in limbo - as conservationists call for the practice to banned to protect native marine life like the Maugean Skate. 

Rural Reporter Alexander Nimmo spoke with Greens Senator Nick McKim, who is in favour of the ban.
