South Australia will establish a Royal Commission into allegations of theft and rorting of the Murray Darling Basin Plan.

The commissioner will investigate breaches of the Basin Agreement and examine adequacy of existing legislation.

It's been described as a waste of time and money by irrigators and the Prime Minister.
