Industries and producers brace for EU rebranding challenge

Australian wine and cheese makers are facing a major rebranding challenge following the finalisation of the new trade deal with the European Union. 

Local producers will soon have to strip iconic names like Prosecco and Romano from their packaging to satisfy European geographic protections.

While industry groups have raised concerns, analysts say it's an opportunity for Australia to create its own unique global identities. 

Rural Reporter Toby Gough spoke with legal expert Professor William Van Caenegem about what producers can do moving forward.
