Scientists are using sensors to track how much food is being consumed by beef-cattle, to help farmers feed their herds efficiently.

The University of Queensland study used wireless ear tags and a camera to track the individual food intake of 14 heifers, over three months.

It's hoped the technology could allow farmers to better monitor the amount of food, and crucial nutritional supplements, their livestock are consuming.
