Hay and straw prices coming down from record high levels

View descriptionShare

Fodder prices have begun to fall, after hitting record highs in winter.

Pasture hay hit a peak of $700 a tonne in July but farmers are now paying between $440 - $530 a tonne.

Despite easing prices, the industry warns supply pressures could remain heading into the warmer months.

Rural Editor Emily Minney spoke with Australian Fodder Industry Association Executive Director Vanessa Curtis about the situation.
