An egg farm in the New South Wales Hawkesbury region hit with bird flu is locked down in quarantine along with three other farms in the area
8,000 birds died from the flu while more than 200,000 on the farm will be euthanased.
Its believed the farm will be compensated for the loss.
Rural reporter Georgia Kondek spoke with the state Agriculture Minster Tara Moriarty who says farms across the state are prepared for an outbreak.
