Why this Philadelphia brewery hires formerly incarcerated people

View descriptionShare

We talk a lot about second chances in life, but what if you never got your first? That's part of the thinking behind Triple Bottom Brewing's fair chance hiring model.

Since opening in 2019, the Philadelphia-based, 10-barrel craft brewery has prioritized hiring people who face barriers for employment, such as individuals who were formerly incarcerated.

The Jawncast's Brian Seltzer visited Triple Bottom to find out why it embraced fair chance hiring, and how this practice has helped formerly incarcerated people make stable lives for themselves and their families.

More details about Triple Bottom Brewing can be found here. Information about fair chance hiring is available through the Youth Sentencing & Reentry Project.
