Fourth of July weekend is coming, and it’s expected to bring sweltering temperatures with it. What if (and this is for the 21-and-over crowd) you couldn’t cool off with your favorite beverage, like a crisp Pilsner, juicy IPA, or spiked seltzer? Thanks to a new contract for the local beer distributors’ union, beer drinkers in the Philadelphia area will be spared. But why did Teamsters Local 830 strike? KYW Newsradio’s John McDevitt and Monk’s Cafe co-owner and founder Tom Peters put the importance of beer distributors into perspective.
