Safe to say that 2020 was a year like no other. As coronavirus swept across the world, not only were robots able to provide continuity for businesses during the pandemic, but they also helped keep human workers safe. Robotic automation accelerated our ability to respond to the Covid-19 pandemic and in some cases helped businesses reconfigure their production lines to make lifesaving equipment.

In this first episode, host Fran Scott is joined by ABB Robotics & Discrete Automation President, Dr Sami Atiya; robotics entrepreneur Dr Pippa Malmgren; and Dr Thomas Bohné from the Institute for Manufacturing at Cambridge University to explore what the robotics industry learnt from 2020, and what’s in store for the robotic future…
