He also mentions the Colts honoring longtime Colts beat writer Mike Chappell by renaming the media room after him.  

23:58 – 36:34 – Eddie Gill from the Pacers Radio Network joins the show ahead of the Pacers regular season opener against the Detroit Pistons! They talk about the expectations for the Pacers, and how they cannot rest on their laurels from last year. They also discuss the Pacers opening slate of games, and where they could be following the first 8.

40:34 – 1:07:49 – JMV first reflects on the passing of Fernando Valenzuela, the Dodgers pitcher who spawned “Fernandomania” back in 1981. Kevin Bowen from the morning show The Wake-Up Call w/KB & Andy joins the show and gives his thoughts on Valenzuela’s passing and his legacy. Kevin and JMV talk about the Colts and the possibility of Jonathan Taylor returning to the lineup after missing the last several games with an ankle injury. They talk about Anthony Richardson, and how he has played at this point of the year. Finally, he and Kevin dive into the Pacers season opener.  

1:07:50 – 1:18:41 – JMV keeps things going by talking about Fernadomania; he also takes some calls from listeners of the show!  

1:18:42 – 1:23:47 – JMV closes the 2nd hour by talking about if the Colts should be more public with calling out Richardson for his struggles, or if he likes Shane Steichen shielding his quarterback.  

1:23:48 – 1:48:13 – James Boyd of The Athletic joins the show! James and JMV dive into the start of the Pacers season, and discuss the Pacers depth and expectations. They switch over to the Colts, and discuss if they expect Jonathan Taylor will be in the lineup against the Texans on Sunday. The Texans ran wild over the Colts in Week 1; James and JMV wonder what happens if that happens again.
