We run through the latest on the practice news for the Colts, previewing the sports weekend and more. Then, he gets into remembering MIke Ditka. From the player, to the coach, to the SNL skit, he reflects on how rare of an individual he was.  

24:17– 41:57 – Bob Lovell from Indiana Sports Talk makes his weekly 3:30 appearance. He gives John his breakdown of IMG academy as they are traveling to Indiana to play New Pal tonight. They run through other class matchups that will matter as tonight is everyone’s last chance to improve seeding before the pairings show Sunday. Then, they remember Mike Ditka.

41:57– 46:45 – Darius Slayton suffered a knee injury in practice today and is now questionable for Sunday’s game. It sends JMV into a rant on how the Colts continue to fail to add depth to the wide receiver position. 

46:45 - 1:10:13 – Joel A. Erickson of the Indianapolis Star joins the show. They dive right into the wide receiver situation that the Colts are in with Darius Slayton being listed on the injury report and will be questionable heading into Sunday’s game. Also, the Carlie Irsay-Gordon discussion and why Joel believes the national media isn’t doing their homework. With the weather potentially being a huge factor in Sunday’s game, Joel evaluates whether the Colts can win the game on the ground with Johnathan Taylor and company. 

1:10:13 – 1:25:31 – A caller has the reasoning as to why Mike Ditka is the quintessential 80s person, then JMV remembers the ‘85 Super Bowl and the players carrying both Buddy Ryan and Mike Ditka off the field. 

1:25:31 – 1:32:30 – JMV wonders why Alan Saunders from Pittsburgh never showed up before quizzing Caleb on who caught a Colts touchdown when they played the Bears in ‘85.

1:32:30 – 2:02:34 – John is ripping his friend for not showing up to play basketball this Sunday, then he gets to the voice of the Indiana Hoosiers, Don Fischer, for their weekly segment. They dive into the matchup against the Nebraska Cornhuskers this weekend and what challenges Indiana will face. Don will have to race back home to call the Indiana vs. Butler exhibition basketball game next weekend, he also gives a preview of their upcoming season and what he’s liked in practice so far. Then, a caller has thoughts on the Colts pass rush
