Debbie Capen is the Exec Director of MiraVia at Belmont Abbey College. “MiraVia is safe haven and source of hope for pregnant mothers and their children”. MiraVia houses and supports women through their pregnancy, delivery and the first two years of their child’s life. All this while allowing them to continue their education. The amazing back story is that Debbie knows all too well what these young women are dealing with. In 1992 she had a choice to make…and she decided to have an abortion. In a wonderful “Rebound Story”, Debbie turned her “pain to passion” and now supports young pregnant women through the challenges she faced 30 years ago. By the way, Debbie is now a mother of 7 children!
