A new $150,000 fund has been launched to help grow events across Central Otago and bring more visitors into the region.
In this episode, we catch up with Tourism Central Otago Head of Destination, Anthony Longman, to chat about the new Central Otago District Event Fund and what it means for local event organisers.
The fund is designed to support events that showcase the best of Central Otago, from its stunning landscapes and outdoor adventures to its food, wine, arts and culture. It's aimed at helping existing events grow and encouraging new events that can attract visitors and deliver benefits for local communities and businesses.
Anthony explains what organisers need to include in their applications, what assessors will be looking for, and why having a strong long-term vision is just as important as putting on a great event.
If you've ever thought about launching an event, or taking an existing one to the next level, this conversation is packed with useful insights on how the fund works and who it's designed to help.
Tune in to hear how this investment could help shape the future of Central Otago's events calendar.
