Mala Was 10 When School Started Giving Her Panic Attacks

View descriptionShare

I'm sure many of us have stories about the times we begged our parents to let us stay home from school. We'd fake tummy aches or sore heads just to have the chance to stay home watching daytime TV. Sometimes it was because we forgot to do our homework, some of us may have experienced bullying or we simply just didn't fit in.

But now there are thousands of parents who say their children physically can't go to school. They have something going on that means they struggle to survive a school day.

In this episode we look into school refusal, what could be causing it and how do we help the kids suffering? We speak to a mum who's daughter started having panic attacks at school when she was just 10 years old and an expert who can give you some tips on how to help your children.
