With the Paris 2024 games in full swing this weekend, we're asking you cast your mind back 24 years to the Sydney 2000 Olympics opening and closing ceremonies. 

Perhaps you recall the giant thong Kylie Minogue sat atop, or Nikki Webster being suspended from the roof... it was a different time.

Today we find out just what goes into pulling off an event of this scale and whatever happened to all the costumes, floats and other memorabilia from that amazing night.
