You're listening to a Muma Mia podcast. Mamma Mea acknowledges the traditional owners of land and waters that this podcast is recorded on Hi. I'm Alex Nicholson from Mamma MIA's twice daily news podcast, The Quickie with Your Headlines for Thursday, January ninth, a thirty three year old woman is fighting for her life after she was shot on the Gold Coast. The woman went to a home on the Gold Coast at around midday when she was shot in the back. Police say she had been sitting in the passenger seat of a car when the shooting occurred. Detective suspect the gun shot came from inside the vehicle and went through the seat. The woman was rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital with a life threatening injury. Detective Inspector Mark Mooney told reporters at the scene authorities were unsure whether she would survive. A homicide investigation has been launched given the severity of the victim's injuries. Detective Mooney says a person at the home had been moving out and the woman had arrived with a group to help. He said a number of people had arrived throughout the day to collect free items advertised on Facebook marketplace. At this point in time, the shooter is unknown, though police suspect the shooter and the victim know each other. More than seventy thousand people have been ordered to evacuate due to the raging wildfires currently burning in Los Angeles. Fierce winds on Wednesday were hindering firefighting operations and fueling the fires, which have burned unimpeded since they began the day before. At least five people have been killed, hundreds of buildings have been destroyed, and firefighting resources and water supplies are being stretched to the limit. The largest blaze consumed nearly four thousand, nine hundred hectares in Pacific Palisades, a neighborhood between the beach towns of Santa Monica and Malibu that has home to many film, television and music stars. Jamie Lee Curtis, Mandy Moore, Maria Shreiver and other celebrities are among the tens of thousands of people who have been forced to evacuate. Medical student Hardy Nasari survived on two musli bars and berries he foraged while spending thirty days lost in rugged alpine bushland. The twenty three year old from Melbourne was reunited with loved ones after he was found by hikers on Wednesday afternoon near Blue Lake in Kosiosco National Park in southern New South Wales. Mister Nazari was winched to the search command post and treated for dehydration before being taken to Kuma Hospital, where he remained on Thursday morning. He told police he'd barely eaten anything apart from two musli bars he found in a hut in the mountains since going missing. Two of mister Nazari's friends reported him missing on Boxing Day after he failed to turn up to a campground where they'd agreed to meet. His disappearance sparked a multi agency air and ground search that involved up to four hundred people who were elated at him being found alive, and the dispute between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni surrounding their movie It Ends with Us continues. Actor and director Baldoni's lawyer, Brian Friedman, says he has evidence showing a pattern of bullying and threats to take over the movie by Baldoni's costar. Friedman also claims the feud has spilt over to Lively's husband, Ryan reynolds film Deadpool and Wolverine, as both films were shot at around the same time. He alleges the character Nice Paul, a stereotypical faux sensitive man who is mocked in the film, is based on Baldoni. However, it's not actually known when the scene in question was filmed, and is perhaps a bit of a stretch given the scene mocks a common stereotype. Reynolds is yet to respond to these allegations. During a recent appearance on The Meghan Kelly Show, Baldoni's lawyer also shared a voice message his client allegedly sent to his team on the night of the It Ends with Us premiere in New York. According to the leaked voice note, Baldoni says he was sent to the basement at the event because he quote wasn't allowed to be seen, claiming Lively didn't want him anywhere near her or the rest of the cast.
